Sure
Prince taught me all you can do with the minor 7 and ninth chords.
I've read a lot of posts from guitarists here.
Are you a guitarist or some other kind of musician?

Hell yes! Prince taught me the funk and showed me who else I needed to listen to achieve that sound (sly, james brown, funkadelic etc)

I'm definitely a guitarist inspired by Prince... it's always been Prince, Stevie and Keith. Those three guitarists taught me everything I know. Okay, and a little Jimi, but not much.

His Purple Mountains Majesty definitely has some tricks for any guitar player that pays attention to the funk rhythm side of his playing.

If only listening to the dual/harmony skank/single-line guitar parts of ICP&C, you've gotta realize that the boy has got something goin' on under the derby.

Do you have a picture of him in a derby?

That is one of those little round hats from the 20's right?

Maybe not technically a derby...but close enough for "gummint" work.

She's Superbad:

Fine and talented. A deadly combination.
She's a very skilled player which is why I like her quotes about playing within the confines of the songs.

Without a doubt! Whenever I'm practicing I pick P tracks with funky ass rhythm guitar parts to play along with just as a foundation.

La La La Hee Hee Hee is a nice one. The guitar parts in 1+1+1=3(Live DVD)are funky as hell too. Of course I'm only scratching the surface with these two. There are PLENTY more!

Prince was my entrance to a world of guitar playing. Because of him, I started listening to hendrix, funkadelic and james brown. And the solo on Sexy MF (which he didn't play but anyway) got me interested in jazz guitar. Whenever I'm not sure what to play in my band, I'll do a prince lick or rhythm part, then change it into my own thing. But it's built on that foundation.

I have mastered the art of Prince's chicken-scratch, kitchen sink Funk rhythm guitar playing. It was actually one of my first goals to achieve when I picked up the guitar. guitar
