THE VAULT

Out of all the offical 'Bootleg' releases which do you rate highest?

Crystal Ball
One nite Alone (Piano demo)
The Vault
Chocolate Invasion
Slaughter House
C Note
Xpectaion

Personally I vote for THE VAULT. Infact I think it will outlast Musicology! For one thing the sound quality is awesome. The best racks are

Its about that Walk
She spoke to me
When the lights go down
5 Women
Old Friends for Sale
Extraordinary.

Apart from Call my Name I don't think there's a track on Musicology that can compete. I do like THe Marrying Kins and if I was the Man in your Life. But honestly, who can put with that rubbish What do you want me to do? Its not so much the music as the lyrics.

There is no dooubt the guys a class a one prick, its just hard to come to terms with it. I still like SOME of the music.

I prefer Chocolate Invasion. I don't listen to The Vault anymore but I play TCI almost everyday.

Anxiety

you know, i love some of the songs on the vault to death, but the thing overall has such a lack of flow that i never give it a spin unless i'm looking for a specific song to add to a comp for someone or whatnot.

the chocolate invasion, though...giddyup!!!

I love 'em both...probably The Vault a tad more right now simply because I've had more time to drool over it, ya know? wink

They're both fantastic examples of Prince albums that in my opinion are wholly satisfying...although of course The Vault should have a few more songs on it, and I can even deal with the new lyrics to Old Friends 4 Sale, but toss in I'll Do Anything or a few other of the jazzy tunes from that time period on the re-release, please! wink

What's that, the previously unreleased hillbilly verion? Obviously with his new found religious beliefs, Prince had to re-record this one before releasing it on Musicology. Without a doubt it's been improved by replacing the banjo with guitar.
RIP sad
