Reflections Room?

In a way the Reflections Room is promoting old Warner Bros. songs! Way to go Prince..promote songs from WB albums on your site. Anyone agree? disagree?

Prince still makes coin from those songs. The ones that are still in print, that is.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

There have been some non Warners stuff as well. I'm sure "She Loves Me 4 Me" and some of the One Nite Alone stuff has been on there. Still, I don't know how he is allowed to release them???

what's the deal here? Does he have to pay himself royalties whenever he includes a WB track? or rather pay WB so they can pay him?

U are so right. Prince may preach that negative stuff about WB, but u can arrest 4 sure that he still gets hefty checks from them on ALL of his work with WB. Even the stuff that isn't still in print, he still gets paid from the publishing rights when it is played on public airwaves.

From my understanding, he can use his WB stuff as long as he is not selling it. He is basically using the Reflection Room as a promotional tool to promote his past material. He can justify the $25 charge as a "club membership" and not a fee for downloading the trax.

What I always found strange was teh way he was allowed to re-release Warner Bros tracks in Year 1 as NPGMC trax..I wonder whatthe legal standing with that was?!

Maybe WB just do not give a fuck. If Prince thinks he is getting them back by releasing songs on the AHDIO show and WB is still getting the bunches from selling the real deal cds the execs prolly are laughing and saying fuck him.

Well if the youngins didn't move quick they've missed them again.

Reflection Room tracks are now the rockier:

Peach
Rock and Roll Is Alive
Zannalee
Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Bit confused here...are you saying that those 3 songs arent Warner Bros in the sense that they arent on WB albums...in which case I think you may be wrong there.

or do you mean they are Prince songs in the sense that Prince wrote them and therefore owns them...in whch case ,may I suggest that you have a chat with the man himself as he still seems to feel differently.
