DVD arrives in Canada - but costly

This might be the last time I order from NPGMC... My 2 Aladdin DVD's arrived today. Not only did I pay $10.99 to Musictoday for shipping (yes, to Canada), but I had to pay another $11.27 at the door for GST, PST and "Additional Handling". I knew I should have waited and ordered from Amazon. I would have had free shipping and they would have probably arrived much sooner! I really only have myself and my impatience to blame though...

Damn, you got lucky. I had to pay the $10.99 shipping and then an additional $14.14 upon arrival. How the hell do they figure out the duty charges? Sonetimes I pay, sometimes I don't!

The price is average @ amazon.ca -- (17.99CDN) not a bad price for a DVD... you guys are on crack.

I bought the DVD the day it came out three weeks ago for a friend ( 14.99$) Now I'll pay more than twice that amount.
Did U folks in OT have to pay duty, tax etc... on NEWS? How was it delivered? CD Post?
Anyway...ThePez...don't blame yourself, many of us made the same mistake...never again. doh!

Why can't you?
I cancelled the NEWS order after it took more than 4 weeks to arrive.

'Handling'?
For what?
Aren't Canada and the US of A in a free trade zone kind of thing? So absolutely no customs duties, even if the DVD wasn't cheap enough for going without them.
So, explain, what are those duties?
Don't tell me they are for customs duties and stuff.

Just cancel after 4 weeks.
My CD took 7 (seven!) weeks.
Even with DHL's 'bulk' shipping which was advertised as '2-4 weeks' (and even THAT is slow: we're in the 21st century people, wake up! use those 'bulk' advantages!).
Keep emailing them every other day.
Politely point out what is wrong and why.

Yeah, the DVD was super-cheap in retail stores!
The NEWS CD on the otherhand, was NOT cheap... I paid $29 for it (Canadian). Sheesh. But that's still probably cheaper than ordering through the club.
