Just Joined NPGMC - Need Expert Advice

So, I just joined the NPGMC and think I'm missing a few things:

1 - whats with the doves on the front, you can click on them and carry them ... why? Is there a secret hidden?

2 - whats the Glam Slam VIP party that you need a password for...where do you get the password?

3 - how do you chat in the conference room? I just end up in a room with a large table.

4 - any other tidbits, tricks, or hints?

Thanks in advance to all who assist!

Nothing happens with them as yet.

2 - whats the Glam Slam VIP party that you need a password for...where do you get the password?

It was used in the first week for a launch party, but hasn't been used since.

3 - how do you chat in the conference room? I just end up in a room with a large table.

Click on the wall behind it to chat.

4 - any other tidbits, tricks, or hints?

After you've listened to any song in the Reflection Room, go to your temporary internet files to transfer them to your hard drive.

They don't like anything controversial on the forums - post with care.

The retail has improved enormously, recently.

Thanks in advance to all who assist!

4). TIPS:

a). DON'T EVEN THINK OF BEING CRITICAL OF ANYTHING PRINCE DOES, SAYS, RELEASES OR SO MUCH AS LOOKS AT OR THINKS ABOUT. They don't like it there. Criticism is the new mortal sin. To blend in, behave like a smacked out sheep who thinks its wool is purple.

b). Don't complain about anything ever. That CD you bought from them that just appeared in your local store for 25% less? Too bad.

c). Don't use normal English at NPGMC. Use Princebonics.

d). Don't call him Prince. He's the Pharaoh now.

e). Don't say you weren't warned.

f). Do come back and tell us how you're getting on.

Your thoughts are not welcome at NPGMC. You paid $25 to be part of an artificial advertising campaign. If you say anything complimenting Prince, you'll get plastered front and center on one of their ads, if you question any of the bullshit practices of the club, your post gets deleted.

It's not customer service there, they're just fishing for compliments.

They refer to anyone that speaks up as a "whiner" and a "minority", when THE TRUTH is, Prince's fan base as a whole is a dwindling minority.

And the last tidbit of info, buy it in the store, its cheaper.

My gawd... the future of the club looks more grim than I imagined... I am thinking within a short while there will be no more future of the club... and all the "whiners'will get the blame... naturally... since it is "the truth" when they say so.

gosh... I actually feel sorry for Prince now.

sad
You are not my "friend" because you threaten my security.

rule one: don't give in to sarcasm. Sarcasm is one of the worst viruses currently destroying any club, chatroom, or message board on the internet.

Anyway there's a reasonable number of things happening in the NPGMC (check out the mixing room: my favourite !) -- it's been a very pleasant experience this year for me. Patience is a major requirement though - but, after all it is a virtue. Furthermore, the people at NPGMC are very communicative and willing to listen to you. They try to keep their promises. No reason to complain.
Finally: don't expect you $25.00 to give you the fastest and the cheapest service, nor constant new music, nor full exclusiveness ALL THE TIME. There will be / has been a little of each (e.g. cheapest 'Come To my House Disc I've ever seen, and the Reflection song, and th eannouncement of 'NEWS' to name a few).

I hope you'll enjoy the experience!

"Patience is a major requirement though - but, after all it is a virtue."

It's a good thing for a company to constantly be testing it's customer's patience??

"No reason to complain."

???

"Furthermore, the people at NPGMC are very communicative and willing to listen to you."

Tell that to all the people who's posts they've deleted, with no reply. That's not communication. There were many cases where they weren't mean or combative posts, but rather straightforward questions and comments. How are they listening by acting this way?

They're selectively pruning posts to maintain a false image.

Do a search in Google for the term "Prince", and this site comes up #1. Then ponder why...

1- The doves are just decoration, they don't do anything.

2 -Sometimes for special occasions you are emailed a password. There has been streaming music there as a kind of online 'party'.

3 - how do you chat in the conference room? I just end up in a room with a large table.

Dunno, I don't go there. Guess that's why I'm not too frustrated to answer your questions seriously wink

4 - any other tidbits, tricks, or hints?

Did you know there's music in the refelction room pool? Took me a while to figure that out. Also, there's a mixing room in the musicology room that you might miss. Those are my favorites.

When you get into the conference room, and see the table, you have to click the wall behind it to actually enter into the chat room.

stop considering Prince a company. stop acting as if your life depends from whether a release comes out in september or in december. it helps a lot.

"No reason to complain."

I repeat, no reason to complain.

well, my posts have been deleted there. Although that might be a blow to your ego when that happens, it's probably just as well. There's a lot of useless talking happening in message boards, and people get carried away into antagonism. You could find that a positive thing. Or you could prefer to avoid that. NPGMC obviously fits in the latter catgory. Does that upset me ? Not really. I don't expect the club to provide me with the possibility to vent my sarcasm.

It seems that the right to moan is placed higher than the possibility to get music.

Well, there we go in a spin. With no point. Which goes nowhere. Do we feel better now?

It's a business. Prince is not your close personal friend mailing you CDs like most friends mail postcards.I treat Prince & Co., like I treat any other business.

People get carried away on ALOT of retarded rants on there, including fams making snide and antagonistic remarks towards "haters". None of that garbage is deleted. Let me remind you, again, that there have been many straightforward, non-spiteful questions, comments, and that have been deleted.

It's not a blow to my ego, but rather me realizing how much of a waste of time it is joining such a "club".

If moaning and antagonizing are such critical issues to you, it would help your cause if you refrained from doing them yourself. Some of us don't make broad sweeping generalizations that anyone with an honest opinion, both good and bad, is instantly a whiner.

Yes, it seems hard not to whine ... lol
Sorry - I realise I've been generalising like mad, which is the wrong thing to do.

Let me take a few steps back. The question of this messegae was about joining the NPGMC or not. I still believe that there's every reason to join. Depending on what you expect from it, you will either be pleased or disappointed. And I have to admit, there has been some reason to be disappointed for the last ... er ... 10 (?) years. Anyway. My point is: all these disappointments are things you get over: I've got my copies of the Crystal Ball, of One Nite alone, of the live box, of NEWS, of the DVD, my downloads, etc. And looking back, I'm really glad I've got all of those.
You could, on the other hand, add your voice of disappointent to the big chorus, either here or at the NPGMC. That may in the first instance be a relief. However, the result, in my eyes, is so often a hurricane of negativeness, which easily carries you along. And there is absolutely no point in that. It just sours your possible enjoyment.
NPGMC are probably trying to fight this, in a rather unelegant way. It's hard to fully agree with their policy. BUT, ultimatly, in my opinion, it is not the point of the club, nor should it be a basis on which to chose whether you join or not. People might disagree.

anyway. Maybe I should indeed stop responding lol

I am new there also. I have found not many people are very freindly but maybe that's cause I'm new. I totally love Prince and everything he does so I get something good out of it. But other boards send welcomes and so forth when you join and I just didn't feel very welcome, just more of an outcast... Maybe that will change, who knows...???

Maybe the album should be renamed "No Vocals" so people will know and not cry when they only get great instrumental music
