For their fan base. Every year Prince hits us with something new. Something for us to debate and talk about-but you guys aren't even impressed any more, you use to it.Appreciate the music , the club, the gift, it only comes along once in a lifetime When the music stops it stops. Maybe Prince should go on hiatus for a couple of years or so, release every 4 years like MJ, you guys would probably have something to say about that too.

You're right, when the music stops it stops. But as long as it keeps going, people are going to talk about it whether you like it or not, so you may as well get used to that fact.

The NPGMC is somewhat hit-and-miss, but the truth is that Prince still releases a hell of a lot of music. Whether us fans like the music or not is sort of irrelevant; the important thing is that he's still releasing it.

I think that his current work, which contains his strongest jazz influences to date is just yet another phase in his career. In the same way some people criticised his 90s output, different people are going to criticise his current work. In a few years time, those same people are going to be lauding his work, whilst some of those who are loving his music right now are going to be hating it.

This is what's so wonderful about following Prince's career.

Something amazing before the year end? I'd put money on it!

As Prince fans, we truly are lucky. Sure, he's annoyed some of us in the past with his decisions, but ultimately, over the past few years, we've had more music from him than fans of other artists could possibly dream about.

I think you should re-phrase the thread to read "How many artists have GOOD new music every year?"

Then the answer is clearly none.

If Prince puts out below par music, don't hit on people if they give it a below par response.
