Maybe the NPGMC is not so bad after all!

Natalie Merchant has also gone the way of independence. She is releasing her new CD exclusively through her website (for the first month, at least). The difference between her website and Prince's is that her CD costs 16.98 plus 2.99 for shipping, while Prince's NEWS was only 10.00 plus 2.99 shipping.

I bet her organisation is more efficient.

The $25.00 is for access to the official web site only. You can purchase N.E.W.S. at www.musictoday.com for $14.99 plus shipping.

Thanks for the clarity...crybabies never want to get the facts - just cry. IF I am not mistaken, you could have bought the download of NEWS from MSN as well.

Hater! Running a record label, pressing your own cd's and promoting internationally is no small feat without a major distrubution deal.

Fugazi have been doing it for 20+ years with Dischord Records. They sell their CDs for $12 (s+h included).

Don't say shit if you don't know shit...
It's pretty obvious Prince doesn't want to spend his money on putting out quality products (and then make more money), but more on his image and shit he doesn't need... ("bling bling", cars, houses) so he can look "cool" and "happening" now...

Nobody denies that it's a lot of work to do it all by yourself - I think the complaint is that Prince had someone who did it all (WB), and who did a good job doing it all (getting him in the top 10 every single year).

Prince decided he could do a better job himself - but refuses to spend the money it takes to do it right. The money WB did spend.

Prince looks bad either way. So far, I see no reason to have the club at all this year. 4 months left in the year and the club members have gotten to buy a CD and an Album that both have been released elsewhere. It's been months since I even bothered logging into the club. I'll just pick up the DVD at best buy - we have one opening here in a few weeks. Because of work, I won't have time to watch it before then anyway.

Those last 2 lines shows how incredibly small this person's world is and how self centered he is as well

what the heck are you talking about? I left in my last two sentences. How can having things in my life outside of Prince make my world small and make me self centered? For your information, I have a wife and 6 kids. If that's not enough, I have a major software project I've been working on lately.

I don't have as much time as I'd like to watch DVDs, and, believe it or not, this DVD is not at the top of my list of ones to watch right now. Tomorrow, I'm taking my family to the county fair - I guess that makes my world small too - to get out of the house and enjoy my family and the great weather we're having instead of staying at home to watch an edited down concert DVD in 2.0 sound.
