Have you seen the message at the top of each forum, now? Sounds a bit like if you don't agree with everything at the site, your posts will be deleted!

I wasn't even gonna go there. This whole thing with the goal being unity. Unity meaning one. Let me stop before I say something I can't take back.

yeah it's back. and more restrictive than ever. people who submit posts which contradict the NPGMC's notion of 'what's appropriate' will see their posts locked quicker than shit. it's happening right now. . .

so sad. dark days for prince fans.

Wish the NPGMC had the balls to just say what they really want to: if you say negative things about Prince, your post will be deleted. How hard can that be?

"Disrespect, anger and ill-will can only destroy the vessel that contains it. These boards were designed with LOVE - 2 UNITE, not divide. Points can be made without using foul, combative language. The goal is UNITY. Any posts deemed contrary 2 that goal will b deleted."

I don't see where this is telling you to agree with what they say. It clearly says "Points can be made without using foul, combative language". Give the club a break. No matter what they do you guys give it a negative spin, making like someone is trying to take away your rights. Nothing is done to you and you act like a victim. You can make your point, just be respectful and speak to them as you would like for them to speak to you.

That would explain Prince dividing the room into sections of "believers" and "non-believers" at the Celebration, right? Or admonishing non-NPGMC members at his ONA shows as to why they all had such shitty (and expensive) seats.

When the goal is "unity", tolerance is the first order, particularly of that with which you disagree or find offensive.

Hell, I do it all of the time.

Sounds like victim talk to me. Look what he did to me, look what he's doing to me. Victim talk.

Huh?

He never "did anything" to me, I was merely pointing out how Prince is not always about "unity" - that is unless by "unity" you mean "in complete agreement".

I don't get the comment, and you sound a little defensive.

This is my point exactly. Some of you act like he did something to you personally. The message on the forum says you can make a point without being mean spirited, then people start posting here like he did something to you. I'm not defensive, but it seems like some people here, all they do is look for something that Prince has done and twist it.

I really don't understand why you guys are fans of Princes' since he never seems to do anything you like.

Patently untrue. Most of what he's done I 'like', especially musically - and even when i dislike the tunes I still find most of them interesting.

I have NEVER been aggressive, offensive, rude or attacking in any of my correspondence with NPGMC, and rather than continue to bitch about the shitty service I recieved as a member, I simply elected not to join. I do find it troublesome that, increasingly, Prince seems to be spending more time seperating us than uniting us.

I can love Prince and still loathe some of the things he does.

I agree with you Herb4, and especially the way you've handled yourself during this discussion between us. You can love Prince and loathe things he has done. And I am definitely not defending things he has done. I respect your point of view. It just seems that at this board at times some people go to the NPGMC looking for something to make a fuss about. If people expressed themselves at the board the way you just did, I think this is what Prince is talking about. We disagreed, but no one got nasty. Point/counter point.

Thank you for helping me make a point.

A lot of the posts that were deleted were people (like me) politely discussing whether or not there is evidence of Jesus Christ.

Admitedly most of the posts were saying that they didn't believe, but surely free speech on this subject is not going against NPGMC 'rules'.

Wouldn't it have been better and more 'JW' to have said their point of view (virtually 'knocking on the door') which we could discuss rather than wipe out our posts altogether!

I don't think Prince is behind all this I think some of the moderators can't tolerate anything that disagrees with Jehovah's Witness' beliefs. Its wierd and sad.
