SO you have your package ready?
Maybe you could add some of those promo CDs as well...
As I said, I won't be sending anything. It is possible, you know, to not send anything AND to not be outraged.

It's very nice of you, to try and defend them. And ofcourse, you are right, we don't know why they want them.
But isn't that just the point here...why could they possibly want them?

That doesn't bother me too much. They didn't provide a good (or any) reason for them so I simply won't send any (not that I was seriously contemplating).

It's got to be a joke?!?!

Reminds me of the craziness surrounding The Black Album and the UK based Crystal Ball magazine asking members to send the bootlegs in to them after Prince put the message in the Alphabet Street video. Some crazy people did, and they published pics of the burning in the next issue.

I always found it kinda ironic that they did that, considering the magazine was named after a bootleg track.

hate to break the news to you rico but the burning was a fake - chris dawson sold the copies that people sent him biggrin

It would just be nice if they would explain why they wanted this stuff.

The subject in the mail item reads, "NPGMC:HELP THE CAUSE".

What cause? hmmm

By the way, anyone got that Royal Box set? It sounds kinda cool.
Little? Yeah, right. It might be little but it's loud

i have to say i almost fell off my chair when i read this email.

they treat us like shit when it comes to ordering and receiving 'exclusive' material from the club (ONA Live, NEWS, ONA Piano for eg.) and now they want us to just give up our paid for CD's and vinyl?

R they INSANE?!!!

If I email them and ask them to return anything with a dollar sign on it that belongs to me since i've joined the NPGMC and been shafted I wonder how much of a response I will get? Hmmm?

Every1 should reply as follows-

Hi NPGMC,

If I send u back the items in question, items which over many years i've paid my hard earned cash 4. Will u compensate me with a share of whatever u gain back from WB?

It seems to me that they are gearing up for an action against Warner Bros. "the ways of the pharaoh" - means the ways of wb to me - they appear to have concentrated on stuff that probably fell outside a conventional music contract and they are saying should never have been released... the boots will be also important to them to prove that wb did not keep proper control over his intellectual property and instead allowed them to leak. Whilst they obviously know what is on all this stuff they need actual "samples" to show the stuff was sold by wb and authorised by them outside p's contract.

I am a UK contract lawyer and it seems to me that is what is happening here.

1. There would be no need for multiple copies of these items from fans for any sort of legal action. They have pictures of most of the stuff on the site, so they must have copies. If not, they could easily obtain copies - just like we have done. They know what's out there, so I see no "legal" reason to be calling on us to be returning legit WB releases.

2. Boots have very little to do with WB - live recordings certainly don't and most of the studio stuff leaked from Paisley, not WB.

hmmm either someone on the inside of NPGMC has gotten a hold of their email master list or the man's obsession with the WB issue has really flipped his wig. If this is real...I can only feel saddness for him. Poor lonely, lost, suffering soul.

1. They have not asked for multiple copies - they have asked if anyone can help to track any down
2. The boots question is answered by use of the word "most" - if some are proved to come from wb then p's lawyers may feel that they have legitimate complaint.

Just when you think those fucking MORONS couldn't get any more laughable, they pull shit like this. I'll be sending something to that address, all right, but you can bet it won't be CD's.

Fucking losers, Jesus. Prince needs to get beat - I'm sorry, but it needs to be said.

FUCKING PATHETIC, INSECURE, WASH-UP.

I almost feel better now.

WOW! I thought you were a fan of Princes. Such venom. I think this email is absurd, too. I wouldn't send my stuff in, but, man, maybe you need to hit the heavy bag or something.

Hee hee.

Finally some of you see the light now. Hate to say i told ya so, but i told ya so. I loved the man and his music for most of my life. Still love the music, but i can't love the man anymore. Cuz his ass is insane!!! Even if it is part of some lawsuit he's filing against the Big Bunny, there's no logical reason to ask his "fams" to send in parts of their prized collections that they paid their hard earned money for, with no compensation whatsoever.

Dude is seriously approaching Michaeljacksonland...

Why would someone LOVE Prince HIMSELF at all?
Not because he isn't worth it (I'm sure some people would read that into my post) but no one here freaking knows him.

hello everybody,
you all have to help me with this one.
my per nilson book is at my sister`s place.

i DO remeber "Vermillion" from some paisly park side-project. either it was the album title or just a track...

anyway. somebody figure this out for me, please. thank you.

to be honest, tonight i think that...eh..tomorrow it might be different...hmmm...

this must be a hoax. seriously i refuse to accept the fact
that i am asked to send my collection to that adress. it`s can`t be real. it`s to odd.
and if it`s not a hoax i believe...i hope...
that the idea is...you know...maybe he is going to open the vault, or something? in some way, maybe?

i am confused.

In 1988, the album titled 'Vermillion' by a group called The 3 O'Clock was put out on Paisley Park records.

It wasn't too great, imo. neutral

it makes perfect sense, if prince is planning to litigate against WB. what he seems to be doing is called 'gathering evidence'

if in fact WB did release prince's copyrighted material through a foreign affiliate, then they probably violated the terms of their publishing and distribution agreement with our hero.

and if WB can get away with something that underhanded then all artists everywhere should champion prince's cause, right now, to prevent it from happening again.

please, if you have even one of the above-listed items, send it in. don't expect to be rewarded, just know that you'll have given something of serious value to prince.
