At the Paisley party, I was shocked at what an insecure vibe he gave off...bitch couldn't even stare down a cute young white boy (not me). It confirmed my sneaking suspicion that he's turned into the biggest follower of them all...and I'm not talking about following God. God would tell Prince to quit being such a shit-head; he would tell him that people in this world are STARVING...people are getting shot and tortured and raped every day...and he would take Prince's money away and let him find out what it's like to not be a pampered, makeup-wearing ex-rock star.

I'm sure I'll still follow his music, b/c I always have, and who knows: maybe he'll completely change his mind about everything and start releasing all the old shit, motherfuckers and all (I doubt that, though). Isn't anyone concerned at all that this may not be from the NPGMC and from some hacker that got all our e mail addresses?
Why would Prince have anything sent to Ohio? Also that Way of the Pharoh sounds a little fake to me. I don't think that even Prince would ask for someone to just give him their personal property without at least offering something in return. Be like water my friend.

Most of the talk here seems to be about the line at the end asking for bootlegs "in addition 2 the items above". I find it more interesting that they go to such great lengths to describe and ask for the other items, items which most certainly are not "unofficial" releases.
Maybe Prince didn't personally sign off on each of those releases, but Warners was, as far as I can tell, well within their rights to put them out. Whenever they did stop a release, it was as a courtesy to him, but I don't think they were ever obligated to do so. It would be much more beneficial to whatever his cause is to actually explain what his problem is with these. I understand the bootleg issue, but asking for official WB product back...I'd be really interested in hearing why that is necessary. If WB truly did overstep any contractual bounds in putting these things out, I'd be more than supportive of him. Wasn't it thought that the planned reissue of all of the old vinyl singles as CD singles in Japan was stopped per his wishes? |

Well I used to live in Ohio. Vermillion is a tiny town off of I-71, just south of Ashland, between Mansfield and Wooster. Most of the folks who live there probably go cow-tipping on a Friday night for fun. 
By the way, I totally agree with what you're saying here and (edited) on the NPGMC. The request, no matter what it's intentions, seems foolish and insulting to me. I am not a 'hardcore' fan, meaning I don't have any boots and haven't kept up with P since the name change all that well. But, this is my 1st year in the NPGMC and it seems I missed all the fun  and beginnings of insanity

hey - I live in wooster (2 years now) and had never heard of vermillion. Don't you think if they sent out an email asking to "help the cause", they might get a bit more response if they told us what the cause is? My guess is that it's some legal angle to get his master recordings back from WB. But what do non WB bootlegs have to do with that? And without an explination, we've joined a club that to date has given us 1 new song for $25 and in return is asking us to give Prince back his own music. What a bargain. And how the heck is anyone supposed to know if a release with the WB logo on it fits in the category they are looking for or not? |
