If "U Tell Us" means "U Tell Us What We Want 2 Hear", then they're better off with silence than straight up bullshit.

For a while, I thought it was going quite well - the mods seemed up for criticism and engaging in lively debate. They just couldn't hang when we wouldn't go for the whole e-mail fiasco.

It's a shame - they were in a position to simply state their case more clearly and engage in a bit of useful dialog, but apparently the good ol' Purple Pride came first.

Wotta mess.

Be reasonable. While the whole General Discussion brouhaha of last summer gives people a convenient excuse to say, "The org bans people too!", it's simply not the same.

The only time I personally have been warned by moderators on the org(which is something they usually don't even bother to do at the club, and if they do, it's a vague command to "be respectful") is when in the heat of it all, I broke one of the org's clearly defined, common sense rules (some of which are made necessary by Prince, such as the ban on discussions about bootleg acquisition).

The moderators were then willing to discuss the issue if needed, and since I clearly did in fact cross the line on these rare instances, I made sure I didn't continue with that type of behavior.

The club uses their vague "be respectful" language so that they can take down any post, whenever they want, and claim that it was disrespectful. I know someone who ordered NEWS the first day and received his package around July 4, only to open it up and discover the box was empty. He then posted this experience in the U Tell Us forum, and the moderators - excuse me, The PeePees - promptly deleted it and sent him a quite nasty PM, which is the first of many times that I heard the PeePees toss around the word of the day in their Legalese for Dummies calendar: slander. (I mean jeez, if you're gonna come with the legal shit, at least get your terms straight. What they're alleging is libel, not slander. I know that, and I was an english major, jeez.)

I understand that people have had some issues with the moderators on the org...I kinda remember being peeved myself around last summer...but the fact is, they're a necessary entity in an online community, and as a general rule they yield their influence with a fair hand.

I personally think Matt and Ian and co. are incredibly generous to keep this place going...they're not making money on us! They don't charge $25 a year, or $100 a year, or $7.77 a month. They have outside lives and loves and responsibilities.

As for the PeePees...well, they're not even brave enough to tell us who they are.
