Prince IS pulling a Pink Floyd!!!! Update! *
I found it! Prince IS pulling a "Pink Floyd"!!! If you begin N.E.W.S. precisely at the moment Dorothy opens the door when she first lands on Oz,(Black & White to Color)the music fits perfectly with what's playing in the movie. It's a trippy thing to watch. Maybe Prince is trying to send a message to the people to live their life by the principles of OZ! The Tin Man's wish for a heart, the Lions wish of courage, and Scarecrow a brain, not to mention "there's no place like home." (Minnesota) Prince is trying to tell all his "fams" to not be like the Wicked Witch (Warner Brothers), and more like the courageous Toto(Prince). As it is he who is the cause of everyone's "education" that they never left Kansas. This is the "N.E.W.S." Prince wants to deliver! Pass the N.E.W.S. on to everyone you know(MTV included) that Prince is back to his old tricks, and has come up with a masterpiece to rival "The Darkside of the Moon" in urban myth. Damn, this stuff is good! I should be in marketing... AX

If you play a Marylin Manson record backwards, you can hear The Lord's Prayer.

If you play the start of Madonna's "Like a Prayer" backwards (where she sings "Life is a mystery"), it says "Hear us save us satan"

And just how did you come to find out exactly where to start the CD? Fear is the mind-killer.

Yes, its true.
You may not believe me on this one but if you track the "Wizard of Oz" up where Dorothy opens the door and it goes from Black-n-white to color the music goes with the film for a long time. I'm still figuring out exactly when to track both up but yes its true possibly looks like P used the film to help with the timing? I did not really believe the rumors at first; you can really see it when she gets to the cross roads and the scarecrow is dancing, a lotta drum solos by Blackwell, then when the trees are throwing apples there is a jam with Prince playing an evil sounding guitar riff, When the tree thro the apples you can hear 'shooo shooo' sound effect. Also every time Dorothy cries or anyone cries there is a strange sad sounding effect. A few of the major scenes are when the music changes up big time, so it could be possibly true. I had the music - film time off a bit but could still follow some of the coincidences. If some one was to go back and play this again and find out exactly when the evil trees are fucking with Dorothy and throwing apples. Well I think thats where you could figure when to track the music to make it all work. Pretty flippin freaky.

The start of the saxophone when the good witch slowly appears is nice also...

I think this is big news, has anyone else tried it?

I read the rumours and tried it myself. Here is some of what I found (you must start the cd when she opens the door and it changes 2 colour):
There is a nice sax solo when the good witch of the South appears. The wind sound in the soft music coincides EXACTLY with the red smoke that makes the Witch of the East appear. A kiss from the good witch coincides with a light hi-hat hit. East starts just before she's leaving the munchkins. Drums start when Dorothy starts moving 2wards the scarecrow. Drums roll when a bird flies down. There is sad music when Dorothy & the scarecrow are sad. It gets happy again when he's happy! Drum rolls when he rolls! Funky music - he's larking. Music speeds up, + sax - he's dancing. Serious music = they talk seriously. The distorted guitar starts just before they enter the evil forest as a warning. There is the backwards whoosing sound when the trees are thowing the apples. There is the metalic faster guitar music when we see the tin man. The 'oily' faster happy guitar chords that start are EXACTLY when they start putting oil into the tin man. When the sax solo starts they all look up. He's trying to walk but not very well - the music gets crazy! He's falling - bad music, going sad. Evil witch appears - bass starts. When she disappears the melancholy music stops! The happier West track starts, they continue happily on their journey. The guitar coincides with the lion appearing. Prince's little 'ooh' voice is when she falls down on the floor 2 sleep. Slow bit is when she's asleep. The sad music is when they are all sleepy. Guitar = snow. Sax when they wake up. The frozen discordant scratchy guitar is when the tin man is frozen! The wobbly guitar coincides with the witch appearing. Guitar & sax solo = they continue. Drum at the end = Emerald city gates. The hairdressers seem to dance in time with South! When they are moving 2wards the door the music builds up. The music & rock guitar builds up when the lion is giving a powerful speech. There is a watery sound when Dorothy's crying. There is powerful piano when Dorothy speaks to the Wizard. Violins when tin man's scared. Piano rolls when the scarecrow tries. Guitar when the lion tries. The music builds up when the wizard scares them & the lion jumps through the window! The music is quieter when they are in the forest. Its night time and the music is sad + wierd FX + witch. The album ends when the flying monkey's land. Pause the film and start the cd again & unpause the film NOW. In North there is a sax 'wobble' when the red shoes shock the wicked witch. A sax 'wobble' is also when Dorothy cries. There is a chirpy keyboard when Toto (the dog) runs 2 the others. The music builds up - they're climbing 2 help. There is guitar when the monkeys creep up on them. The rock guitar builds up when they are trying 2 get her free. The first jazzy part ends when the door closes & the witch has them trapped. More mellow music + wind - They are up high on top of the building. Dramatic piano - they get caught! Sax ends when the wicked witch is dying. Brighter music = she's dead! There is wind when we see the wizard again. East starts when he gives them what they want. The drums start when the lion gets courage + tin man gets heart. Guitar with sax = she is in the baloon, ready. Distorted guitar = baloon leaves without Dorothy. The guitar breaks when we see the red bubble containing the good witch of the South. Dorothy's sad she thinks she can't go home. Happy music = she can go home!! Sax 'wobble' - they are sad she's leaving. The 2nd guitar chords on thee own = she's back. When it gets going - they are all happy!

I'm gonna play MY music over the Wizard of Oz and see what happens!
That's a trip. I heard about the Pink Floyd way. You know Paul McCartney used to do this for fun: Put on a movie, put on a record and see what happened. Sounds real groovy. [This message was edited Sat Aug 9 15:14:53 PDT 2003 by VinaBlue]

For those who don't know, the original sync is Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of The Moon" and The Wizard of Oz. You're suppose to cue the music after the second "roar" of the MGM Lion.I've done this and there so many coicidences that is not even funny. It's the alternative soundtrack to the movie! And no, you don't need to enjoy it, but it wouldn't hurt
