Lavish,
In response to your reminder of the Org rules, it appears to me that you are in fact taking this personally. Regardless of your opinion on whether or not someone who hears 2 new prince songs for the first time should be able to describe them in any way, I think that you should try to adhere to some sense of neutrality. Otherwise, what's the difference between the Org and the NPGMC? I was going to ask you why you didn't post something similar on PopCorn's thread yesterday...but I can't find it anymore (?) - I'm not personally a fan or deleting threads (or even locking them), but of course I understand that this site has rules and that we should abide by them. In the past, when a moderator has taken the time to orgNote me and explain why he/she believes I have violated those rules and then asks me not to do that in the future, I have modified my behavior accordingly. I find that in my experience moderators are much more respected if people notice that they don't primarily post warnings about possible rule violations on posts that they are personally involved in. I want to apologize for upsetting you though, Lavish, because it seems that you believe I was attacking you personally for not remembering anything about the songs. While I do find it suspect that someone could dance to a song yet not even be able to describe the overall MOOD of it...I'm far from the only one who feels that certain people who were at the club that night have been less than forthcoming about supplying the rest of us with any details. It's not so much the not remembering part as the unwillingness to communicate, and the haughty attitude of some of the people who were there that rankles me the most. It reminds me of those fans who have a rare prince track in great quality, but rather than share it with others, they just keep bragging about the fact that THEY have it. Just my opinion. And although I didn't report PopCorn to the moderators yesterday b/c I personally think that's a rather weak-spined way of handling things, I DO hope that you were as upset by that thread as you seem to be here. Phew! Got that off my chest. Now maybe I can get some work done (yeah RIGHT). No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I just find it interesting that the overwhelming majority of the time, people are able to report something like this down to the last little teensy detail, yet in this situation, EVERYONE present is somehow unable to come up with specifics.
Sounds a shade shady to me. Not that I'd EVER suspect anyone of toying with their peers in an environment as loving and familial as the Prince fan/fam community. Perish the thought!

Otherwise, what's the difference between the Org and the NPGMC?[...] It's my job as a moderator to remind people when necessary of the rules we all agreed to. Secondly, I never mentioned anybody's name, which meant it was advice for everyone. Third, I came to this thread because I was told about it. None of the moderators have the time to be reading everything that is posted here, that is why there is a report to moderator link. It is pure assumption to think that I am upset, when my only goal was to explain myself, and to remind everyone to calm down, and discuss things as adults. Nothing more really needs to be said on my part. Thanks for listening.
