They would work if they didn't closed the GlamSlam VIP. Those songs are not accesable anymore. For the club was only for a limited time open ... I was too late when I woke up the next morning cry!!!

It probably means that you need Media Player 9

I cant seem to get either DAP or Hi download to trigger properly, they keep recognising the links as HTML files and so only download 1.1kb. The only way you can do it is by opening up Media Player and putting save as, but it doesnt use the DAP to d/l it, instead the standard D/L!

DAP keeps saying those r HTML files, even though they end in .WMV. Anyone else know how to get around this problem so i can save them instead of Stream them?

Thanks for the links. The reflection link takes me right to the music, but the others lead me to the Club intro homepage, the one with the Earth is Flat messages and the arrow. If I follow the usual route, including standard login, to the cybervids, I wind up no better off than before. Am I doing something wrong with these links?

you do not need DAP or any additional program! All you have to do is track down the actual movie file and the names and the web directory it's under and save it. For example: right click on this link and click 'SAVE TARGET AS'... hmmm?

http://www.npgmusicclub.c...-small.wmv

if you can figure out all the names of the video files then u can download all the videos.

Can someone walk me through this? I right clicked and saved each link. Now what? When I click on the file I saved it takes me to a black HTML web site. Sorry for being computer illiterate.

The easiest way to download them directly IMO is to use wget for windows (http://studwww.rug.ac.be/~bpuype/wget/)

Open a command shell and run the command:

wget http://username:password@...-small.wmv

that will save the wmv file to the same directory you are working in. NOTE: you will have to substitute username:password for your npgmc username and password. Otherwise you will get an "access denied" error.

I used the hidownload program as suggested in the first post.
Used the 'Add'-function to add all the different links in the program, filled in my user/password in the second each time.
Beware: If you do not (need to) fill in your user-id/password, you cannot download the vids!.
I had that problem with DAP. I couldn't fill in my used-id/password, so all DAP did, was download the link (approx. 11 kb(?)).

In hidownload you can fill in you account and download the files pretty fast.

Anybody knows the 7.1 version addresses??

Hey, yesterday the above worked!
Today I get thrown back to the opening page of the site whenever I try downloading anything.

Did they build in an extra security to barr from downloading or am I doing something wrong?

Javier..thanx 2 u i solved it!!
I tried it with DAP and it worked.
Heres how i did it:

Copy and paste Javier's example URL to the DAP "add URL" bit, then put your user and password in the place of where it says in the URL link "user:pass". It then recognises it as the .wmv file and not the HTML. The reason it was doing the HTML files was because I was using the naked link without the password so it got reverted to the HTML file instead.

THANK U!

That's what I'm getting too. I have downloaded almost everything suggested by Microsoft and I still can't play the streamed vids on the site because (and I'm guessing) my buffering is too slow. So I downloaded one (it took 2 1/2 hours) and can't play it because I lack a suitable decompressor! WTF!

Someone please help, because I fear soon they will be no more.

Damn! Can't DL these. It's like the files aren't there or something. I do have Player 9 and everything, but I'm at work right now behind a firewall and on Win 2000, so maybe that's why. Am I wrong (as usual) smile?

some back up methods that might work for those struggling:

1. go to watch the vids, and while it is buffering right click on the media player frame and select 'properties'. This will give you the path to the movie. Just copy this into something like Real Download, enter ur famname and password when prompted, and sit around for a good long while (you might have to set the timeout settings to maximum to give it time). this means you should be able to get the 'hi' version whatever ur connection.

2. A bit simpler (tho u might have to go to the html version to get it to work). In IE go to 'tools/internet options' and select 'settings' against 'temporary internet files'. Set the 'amount of disk space to use' to maximum. The when u go to the site, go to the reflection room and right click on the pool while the track is playing to open the shockwave settings. find the setting for how much file space the site can use on ur pc, and set it to unlimited. This should mean that all u have to do is play the files thru the site, and then pick them up from ur temporary internet files folder (the location of this is in IE's 'internet options').

Construct your URL's like so:

http://username:password@...-small.wmv

Just replace username:password with your npgmc username and password. I may be wrong, but I think that whatever you are using to download is getting the http 401 error because it doesn't know how to authenticate. By putting the username:password into the URL your credentials will be sent along with the request and you shouldn't get any errors.

Like I said above, use wget for windows and you wont have any problems. Linux/*BSD users will likely already have wget.

A few days ago the above links worked and I downloaded the first two files and then the day after it entirally didn't work any more, not even the ones I already used! cry
I was launched backed to the startpage of the site whenever I tried.

If anybody has found a way around it (I tried hidownload and wget but had the same results, although I included my login information in trying) please, please, PLEASE poste the information as a response here...

I just saved the files onto my computer after downloading them with Windows Media Player 9. First you need to choose open URL and put in the URL's for the file. When the file has been downloaded you choose "file" and "save media file as..." and you're done.

It worked for me.

Another good suggestion, although such cyber-gymnastics shouldn't be necessary. But hey, I tried it. For me, problems immediately arise when I put the URL in the MediaPlayer - no download occurs. I just get a message that "the Windows Media Player cannot play this file. Connect to the internet (?) or insert the removable media on which the file is located..."
