Lotusflow3r site MVs? Hi everyone, this thread is my introduction to this site. Prince is my number 1 artist and may treat myself to subscribing to Lotusflow3r for xmas. Ive heard scattered feedback surrounding this. My main interest is the music videos. Could you please tell me what videos are on there and your experiences using the site? Thank you www.nextpowergeneration.com PS3's own NPG!

This was posted a while back by someone here.... Inventory of goods on lotusflow3r - please update with your take Here's my quick summation of what's available on lotusflow3r.com for those still pondering joining. Feel free to add to the list - maybe this can become a sticky for site content if the mods feel it's appropriate to show what membership on the site gets you as of now: 1. The three albums - available as 320 kbps mp3 files or as lossless wav files for immediate download. Albums are about 100 mb each as mp3 downloads, about 450-470 mb each as wav files. I've not been able to get the wav files for MPLSound yet - it's an incomplete download (stops at around 190 mb for me). Seems like others have gotten it, though. 2. You can reserve tickets for the shows this month, although many (if not all) seem to be sold out now. 3. Each of the three albums also has lyrics (embedded in Flash, so no copying and pasting of them for safekeeping - you'll have to take screenshots or re-key them), and additional photography/art that's associated with each album (4-6 images for each album, i.e. something that might appear on the inside of the CD booklet if you were to get one). Surprisingly, the artwork itself for each album is quite small and is NOT included when you download the albums. You'll have to get a screenshot or swipe it off the internet if you want to pair the artwork with your digital music files. 4. There's a paragraph of credits for each of the three albums. 5. There's a large "crystal ball" in the Lotus Flow3r section that spins around with numerous photos of Prince (most are from the 21 Nights book). There are also videos available for streaming, not downloading. Note that many of the videos are linked to twice in the "crystal ball," so right now it looks like there's a lot more there than there actually is. One would assume this would be updated/swapped out over time on the site: Alphabet St. (music video) Sign O the Times (music video) Te Amo Corazon (music video) Diamonds and Pearls (music video) Controversy (music video) The Britt Awards performance Controversy (music video) I Wanna Be Your Lover (music video) I Would Die For You (sic) (music video, live show) Little Red Corvette (music video) Guitar (Jay Leno performance which never aired) 1999 (Jay Leno performance which never aired) Super Bowl performance The Sacrifice of Victor film (43:41), Japanese subtitles The Britt Awards performance Creep (live) Shh (live) Somewhere Here (sic) (music video) 7/Come Together live The 1 U Wanna C (music video) Turn Me Loose (Jay Leno performance, aired version) I wouldn't say that all the hype about the quality of the video was accurate - some are indeed in HD/widescreen, but most that were originally shot in 4:3 resolution have been stretched to widescreen, which makes the SD video look worse than it should. I've yet to view any video on the site without running into hiccups/choppiness. 6. There's a "sneak preview" of two videos (not much longer than what was shown on the site earlier, only larger resolution now): "Crimson and Clover" and "Chocolate Box," both do look well done. The full video for Bria's "Everytime" is available as well. All streaming, no downloading. 7. You get a t-shirt as a "founder," although it costs extra shipping if you're out of the states. If anyoneone thinks of any additions? Feel free to post>? [Edited 12/13/09 17:10pm] Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Ask yourself "Is $77 a good deal for low quality streaming videos, hopes of a t-shirt that most likely will not ever arrive and a single song that's not on the $11.99 retail CDs?"
Buy the Target hard copy of Lotus(which has Crimson And Clover)and an external hard drive with that $77 and do "something else" for your Prince fix. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Buy the Target hard copy of Lotus(which has Crimson And Clover)and an external hard drive with that $77 and do "something else" for your Prince fix. Exactly. Why pay for the album twice. That one misc track that is on the site and not on the physical CD can be found in the usual places to complete the set. The videos are nothing TOO new because the Montreaux stuff, and the shirt.....well no t-shirt is worth $77 Amorist, Prince doesn't even give a shit about the site, you shouldn't either. Go buy the CD, rip it yourself, and like Squirrelgrease said....find another Prince fix w/ your $77.

D.M.S.R. video from Musicology tour Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Atleast this thread can inform other users and help them decide. $77 ummmmm There's also the potential for Prince to do a live stream from his house while eating Wheaties. That is about as likely as the "updates". (Sarcasm.) Save your money. There is already a Lotus sticky on the site for and about the Lotus site http://prince.org/msg/13/324961 as well as a Lotus forum (which is where this thread might end up) for the album and site in general: http://prince.org/msg/13

Ill take up the advice and save my money thank you. I see that the membership is fairly over hyped and one sided. Lol love the term "fix" by the way. Im pretty much a Prince junky www.nextpowergeneration.com PS3's own NPG!

I agree with you. Those would be great. Streaming is slow on there that's the biggest problem. There are nice videos indeed but if you've seen the Hits dvd and D&P and remember some older stuff there isn't a lot of new stuff. I don't even want or need fancy videos and filming. Just a film every few works of Prince jamming one of his songs in a natural studio/home setting would be more than worth it. Exclusively for LF so no where else on line that others can bootleg and see anyway. Then I'd sign up for a second year.
