$77 for membership!

I love prince and think if I had the money I would $x to go see him or for a one on one meeting, but what are you getting for that? The ability to buy his album? His album is $13.33 !

What does membership actually get you?

A boatload of frustration. My advice to you is to NOT join. To date the site has been a tremendous letdown. However, to answer your question, you get the following:

Downloads of Lotusflow3r, MPLSoUND and Elixir (note the download version of Lotusflow3r contains one track ("The Morning After" that is not on the Target version. The download version, unlike the Target version, does not feature "Crimson And Clover").

"Founding members" (aka suckers) will supposedly be receiving a t-shirt. To date no one has received these t-shirts.

You also get access to some video content, the vast majority of which is recycled stuff that most hardcore Prince fans already have. There are a few genuine rarities (such as a Musicology tour performance of "D.M.S.R." and some unaired Jay Leno appearances. Unfortunately you can not download these videos (not legally anyway).

Tickets were made available to members for some of Prince's recent appearances. However, if you live outside of Los Angeles you are out of luck. If he decides to tour (which at this point seems very unlikely) the site may be useful in getting tickets.

Again, I advise you to stay far, far away from Lotusflow3r. In the unlikely event that something worthwhile becomes available you can always join. A lot of folks that did join, myself included, are feeling a bit ripped off and disappointed by the extreme lack of content/updates with the site.

I am a big Prince fan and would feel like I was missing out but unless it gets you privy to certain updates and info you would not find elsewhere I may just poke it for a bit, see If I can get behind for free wink .

Like NPGMC, the membership to the site will pay off in spades when the tour starts. The same naysayers who were sitting in the rafters at the One Nite Alone and Hit n Run tours while the NPGMC members had their own reserved section down front wont admit how stupid they felt. I remember how stupid they looked: getting all upset when members were ushered in as they waited in the long ass lines.
