They say they've got 10 catalogued albums of unreleased music? They could promise to release 1 or 2 each year through the site, in addition to whatever new album Prince releases that year, and I'd be pretty happy.
Things like Rave 88, Roadhouse Garden, the follow-up to 1999 that he mentioned in Rolling Stone, etc. would be fantastic! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you! | |

The only thing that can rescue this endeavor in my opinion, is the increasingly only thing that Prince does best: perform live. A real tour, fairly priced, and with fair coverage of major markets, granting members access to presales is the only thing I think that can turn this around.
As for additional music... The site is NAMED "Lotusflow3r"--I do not think we'll ever get any music outside of this project. (It's not like "NPG Music Club") As for the 10 albums worth of material, the webdesigners themselves said they were not familiar enough with Prince's material. Who knows what they were told/presented and uncritically accepted and repeated as talking points. So I'm not holding my breath on those 10 albums... Pragmatically speaking: -a site redesign/dress down to something more basic, easier to navigate, mobile friendly and less graphically intense -a tour with presale tickets -the damn t-shirt... how hard is it to package and send a t-shirt for Gawdsakes! I know that nothing was promised to subscribers other than what has been given (assuming that the t shirt eventually arrives) but seriously, people are obviously expecting more for their hard earned cash.
If Prince is not aware of his customers feeling cheated then somebody should make him aware. The fact that complaints and misgivings aren't being adressed gives the impression that he doesn't care about his loyal supporters who have stuck by him through thick & thin. Surely he doesn't want to alienate what remains of his fan base??? | |
