Was in HMV today reading the staff review of Lotusflow3r, it mentioned that you can buy the album from the website and that it will be sold in HMV for a limited time. This is the first time I have heard of an album being sold in a record shop for a limited time, thought it was rather strange.

This gimmick has been used several times before (by other artists) 2 move product. Generally, it has 2 do with a one-off print run of an album or single, or a limited edition release, and the idea is 2 motivate people 2 make the purchase sooner rather than later. If successful, it also guarantees that the album won't be sitting in the store as inventory.
