Disco Jellyfish Hey everyone! This is my first post and before I started I wanted to just say hi to everyone. I was a casual Prince fan as a kid in the 90's who rediscovered his music just before Musicology was released. Anyway...
I read somewhere in an interview that the website artist too his inspiration for the MPLSOUND cover and artwork from a song called Disco Jellyfish (or something like that). If I am not mistaken, this was one of the songs that played from the stereo on Lotusflow3r.com before the site officially launched. My question is: [NO asking where can I find/get etc - luv4u] I've been a member of Lotusflow3r.com since last Tuesday and I just got back from Target with my hard copy of the album thinking (I thought I read it here somewhere) that Disco Jellyfish was on the Target version. I was wrong =(. [NO asking where can I find/get etc - luv4u] are we going to have to hope that it shows up on Lotusflow3r eventually?

Whoops. So I can't figure out how to edit a previous post (apparently I asked questions that are not supposed to be asked here- I don't remember seeing that in any of the rules linked below the text entry box), so I'll just amend my post here. Does anyone know anything about the history of this song? Am I imagining its existence?

Hi! And welcome. All I can say about this track is that it's a non-album instrumental and U didn't imagine anything, it was available thru lotusflow3r.com just as a snippet 2 listen 2. At the moment, it's not been released.

Discojellyfish is only available in cyberspace. It is available, though. Prince promoted it on the "beta" version of the site, but decided to make it unavailable for legitimate paid download.
Get ya Google on, my friend. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Prince may as well put it up as a free download at this point. The more content, the better. Perhaps there should be a Miscellaneous Tracks/B-Sides album put together with this, F.U.N.K, and perhaps some demo's from the new albums like the snippet of 'Feel Better....' that was on NPGMC before it closed. That would be nice. |

disco jelly fish is essentially an instrumental of chocolate box. a little different, but most of the parts are in there.

Ahhhh... and that would make sense as to why he would not include it on the album. Bummer... I really thought it was going to come on the CD. Since I purchased my Target discs, I figured out that there is a track on the download version of the album that is not on the Target discs, so I am feeling that my $77 purchase is starting to pay off already. -- there's still a long way to go, but an entire year is a long time and I'm sure we'll have enough exclusives to more than justify the price.
