I joined the site and I'm not disappointed at all - got all 3 new cds on the first day - and man I couldn't have waited any longer smile - you get videos (hopefully changing on a regular basis) - you get the chance for better concert tix ....

so - for me at this time everything is just fine

JEDINATION

I joined friday and I'm happy with the site.

I did some math...

77.00

-11.98 (if I bought the cds at Target)

-31.21 (founding member t-shirt (isn't that what t-shirts were being sold for
on the last site)

that's.

33.81 for the vids, worlds and like others have said, this is just the beginning..and if I get great concert tix when Prince eventually comes back to Detroit, well, it's more than worth it.

so, overall, no biggie..

Cost of two tickets:

Lotusflow3r $154
Ticketmaster $196

Hmmmmm....which one seems better?

You saved $42 right there so that $77 membership fee has now dwindled down to $35. I have no problem paying $35 for first dibs on fantastic seats, early entrance to shows, pics, videos, music downloads, lyrics, access to merchandise and any other cool things he decides to add to the site.

I paid $100/year for NPGMC and would do it again in a second. I got fantastic seats to many shows thru NPGMC as well as tons of downloads, merchandise, and other really awesome stuff. Plus, met many nice fans as well.

If Lotusflow3r only lasts one year, so be it cool

read the T&Cs, there is zero guarantee that members will get tickets/discounts.

The videos? Any self-respecting fan would already have them, and let's be honest, casual fans wouldn't even know how to get past the idiotic access screen, so chances are we've all seen them.

And the T&C again make it clear that members may be charged extra if they want to get "premium" downloads, so your $77 doesn't even guarantee "premium" tracks.

I'll wait a few months, if by then the amount of stuff available for download is worth $77, maybe I'll join. Otherwise, he won't get my money except whatever target keeps (if the CDs ever get sold outside the US).

I hadn't seen 1999 and Guitar from Leno, so was very pleased with that. Love the performance of Guitar. I'm sure that other unseen stuff will appear given time.

3121.com was a free site for all. There was no special treatment for ex-NPGMC members.
Just somewhere in the middle,

hey - as far as I can remember similar promises were made to previous Prince online memberships..npgmc, 3121, etc etc...they all closed down - so there go the lifetime membership promises...

So you're going to shell out a hundred bucks for a concert probably, AND pay to get the "discount" on the tickets, or the first shot at tickets? THAT is a gimmick if I ever heard of one. And yes, you could have waiteD for the albums.

Agreed. I've already had people emailing me from my Prince blog about the year or whatever on that ridiculous access screen. However, the answers are in the TV and radio, but still. There's nothing spine tingling about the site to a nonpayer to make them want to join, especially since the albums are out now. And I seem to be hearing that those videos are all TV appearances. I made my DVDs of all of that for pennies, and not 7,700 of them.

Of course there is no guarantee that members will get tix - there are only so many to go around! You need to be on the ball, log in quick, and go for it. Ticketmaster doesn't guarantee tix for every single person attempting to purchase them either, plus they charge an extra $21 for each ticket! That alone makes the club worth it. I've already seen numerous vid clips, listened to downloads, and seen some awesome still photos.

I am not sure if you are the one to tell me, at which time I want to have the cd's - and for your correction - don't know where you are from - but try to write in my language (german) and I will see how many corrections are to be made - how we say: "if you find any errors, you can keep them" wink

Well....I have recessionitis at theis time and really cant afford to join. I was a member of the dawn, npgmusicclub and 3121. I enjoyed the benefits I received and the concert tickets I got were the best. The friends who attended the concerts with me were like "HOW the Hell you get these seats!!??" Hopefully the economy will turn around for me and I'll get back on track. I was glad i got to see the performances on Youtube before they pulled them down and I was able to buy the cd at least. I was looking for some kinda deal for past members but oh well..a pimp always gonna be a pimp!! heh heh heh Hopefullu i wil be able to join before he starts touring cause I surely need a fix. I went to both the Musicology shows here in OHIO. Columbus the first night and Cleveland the next. I would like to do that again!! I even got a speeding ticket on my way back to Cleveland but it was worth it. I had kinda partied myself out the night in Columbus and over slept. Anyways..that's why he charging 77.oo. it's cheaper then the 100.00 we orignally put down. Not as cheap as returnign to 3121 but he didnt tour in the states. So Im thinking he's going to tour the states and give us another deal. You know everyone has bills to pay.

Peace and be wild
Thank U 4 letting me be myself

look at it this way ...

it's $6.41 a month.

some people spend that on coffee in a day at starbucks.

so far i've gotten 3 albums, a t-shirt is on its way and i viewed some cool live footage some of which I had never seen. and 1 video from the concert in detroit i was at.

i'm thrilled.

I think it'll b worth it in the long run. Prince is well aware of what a lot of us fans went through in the opening week & beyond. We will b rewarded 4 r headaches and horrific trauma we went through 2 xperience the site. JUST B PATIENT

cool I did'nt join. I did buy the cd set at Target. His website may be a bit high but i do think $77 is worth it.... if you get good seats, see unseen concert footage, videos, & music to download including the cds. It is not worth it if you are having major problems with the connection or not getting any of these benefits. I just want to have the cds that is fine with me. Who knows if he will even end up touring at all. cool
