look at it this way ...

it's $6.41 a month.

some people spend that on coffee in a day at starbucks.

so far i've gotten 3 albums, a t-shirt is on its way and i viewed some cool live footage some of which I had never seen. and 1 video from the concert in detroit i was at.

i'm thrilled.

Spot on & I couldn't agree more!

the way I see it, keep looking at what they put on the site, and when you reckon it's worth $77, then subscribe.

If you join now, 3 CDs available for $12 elsewhere and maybe one or two unreleased videos is not really a bargain at $77.

There's so much he could do for his fans, but won't ... (can you say "release the full recent HD concerts footage for members"?). Part of it would be that his technical team wouldn't have a clue how to release it without crashing the site (eg. using bittorrent to avoid killing the server), part of it is that he's just a pro at giving diehard fans the minimum amount he can get away with and still rake in the cash (because the diehards are so gullible).

I refuse to sponsor his site until he provides real values for fans worldwide. So I'll check the update thread once in a while to see if there's anything there worth the cash. I think it'll be a long wait.

I know Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nails get brought up a whole lot in these arguments, but with very good reason. Check out the latest goodie they're offering to fans fo free.

NIN iPhone app

Remember, this costs $77 less than Prince's site.

I think it'll b worth it in the long run. Prince is well aware of what a lot of us fans went through in the opening week & beyond. We will b rewarded 4 r headaches and horrific trauma we went through 2 xperience the site. JUST B PATIENT

um with as much as prince changes his mind, any future potential doesn't hold water. the only $77 dollars worth spending because it will be worth it in the long run involves interest rates.

The reason he's charging $77 is because he's a greedy motherfucker. He knows he ain't gonna make any money off the cd at Target, so he's got to make money off of it somehow. There are still shitloads of Lotusflow3r at Target. He still makes good music, just there aren't as many people buying it. Personally, I like the NPGMC. It's too bad he got bored with it. Just like he did with 3121 and soon Lotusflow3r will be a thing of the past. It's his M.O.
