Maybe Prince will defy expectations for once and make it worthwhile. I didn't expect the music to be this good, so he's already beat expectations once.

i haven't read this thread yet, but i've just survived my first round of lotusflow3r boot camp and i am happy to say i've lived to tell the tale.

WHAT is up with having to solve the little picture riddle just to get into the site? to me, that little gem is a warning of how non-intuitive the site is as a whole. i love clicking around and playing games on my computer where i snoop around in little video game universes, sure, but not everyone is a video game geek and not everyone has the patience to play junior detective just for the opportunity to fork $77 over to prince.

i'm not going to say much about the technical difficulties, because, well, yeah.

and if you're going to have little games and riddles, have more easter eggs and hidden games stashed around the site. that kind of fun would forgive the difficulty of having to navigate around all the dang jackheaded birds and moons on a string and what the hell ever else is going on.

oh, i will say this about the technical difficulties: it took me an hour to successfully load all the new music to my iPod. AN HOUR. and part of that was manually entering track list information and adding album art. WTF? i don't mean to sound like bart here, but when i download a FREE album from nine inch nails' FREE site, each track is fully coded with all the track information PLUS a distinct image coded onto each track. it's freakin fantabulous, and i'm guessing it's not terribly hard to do. prince's tech-y design-y people really need to step that up.

i want to take the "hope springs eternal" route and think that as the year goes on, the site will develop into something more playful, more intuitive, more content-heavy, and with more exclusive info that will make me want to fam out. the video globe with all the ballyhooed exclusive content? yeah, no. i already bought the 21 nights book, thankfully on a deep discount, but i didn't need to pay $77 to see those pics all over again, thanks. and the lion's share of the videos are ones we've seen a kajillion times, already. why not throw something like the undertaker on there - at least the studio performance footage? that's hot as hell and fans who have never heard/seen it need to experience it.

hmmm. i feel like i need to say something positive. THE SITE IS PRETTY. yes. it is. i like the little explode-y stream-y thing when you first get to access the site. i like the colorfulness of it. i like what the site WANTS to do, but it doesn't seem to be able to deliver its intentions just yet.

i feel like this is a site in an advanced beta stage. i hope it is, anyway.

i don't feel ripped off, because i have the music and apparently i'm getting some form of t-shirt (boutique quality, bitchez!) and who knows what else it will offer. but it's off to a really rocky start in my opinion. i wish them the best of luck.

I´m also a bid disappointed about the site as it is atm.
Not that i whine about the 77$ i spent this early morning but really,
what did we get? A medicocre looking and hard to navigate site with 3
albums that u can buy for under 12 $ next week, videos that most of
us know except a few like the ´Creep´ performance, pictures that can
already be found in last year´s book "21 Nights", no forums, no "specials"
or "extras" besides a T-Shirt?

In my opinion, it was more fun to explore the NPGMC then Lotusflow3r.com,
and 25$ for NPGMC was a much better deal then the 77$ for this as it is now.

I just hope this will get better, because the albums MPLSounds and Lotusflow3r
are fantastic. I really love them and it shows once again, that Prince is a real genius
when it comes to music.

Apart from that, what´s up with the https thingy when u type in your credit card information?
Does it really have to be a https site or aren´t there more ways to protect
our credit cards infos?

If there is no "https" and a little lock in the bottom right hand corner, the page is NOT secure...meaning information entered into that page is NOT encrypted on that sites server. If that server is ever hacked and it can be done, a hacker would be able to find and utilize that information. I'm not saying this just to pick on Prince's website, this is real talk. So far I definitely like the track "Everytime". Very smooth sound and I could listen to it and not get tired of it. I also like "Something you already know". I am trying to listen to these tracks while at work and also the lotusflow3r/MPLS sound tracks. Will listen at home.


I can see the videos now, but no sound is playing in any of them right now. I was happy to see you can enlarge the screen while watching the videos.

I think though, other fans who are not members of sites like the org or other fan sites, will have absolutely no idea how to sign on to become a member. I think they need to get rid of the riddle, if that's what it is before you register to become a member.

I think the riddles ought to come later...like when you do explore. I think a huge flaw in the design is you can't get to what you want easily. There should be a place where the Music should be for download, things to be purchased and tix to be had. Everything else incl the videos can be hidden.

I give up. It says to log in if you're a member. I registered my email address for updates ages ago but that doesn't work. It says not a member - click to unlock the site, and it's asking for random shit I have no idea about with no clear menus or signs.

I'm not reading through fan sites and boards to find little hidden secrets Whoever designed the site needs to learn Web Design For Dummies.
