$77 is the fee I get for something like an hour and a half of work. I still don't think his site is worth that. How 'bout he PROVES himself first?

Aw c'mon L4...fans who support Prince are getting jumped on as well. Org members going kindergarten on them calling them koolaid drinkers, fams, sheep, asskissers, etc. Since when did anyone have to answer to an org member for supporting an artist of their choice? Constructive criticism is one thing, and there's nothing wrong with that, there will always be criticism as far as any artist's music is concerned, but you have to admit, you have some that plainly state how they don't like his music at all, won't spend another dime on any of his music/products, constantly criticize him for many of his actions..okay so we get that, but yet, they still spend an enormous amount of time and energy giving themselves high-blood pressure over and over again about their discontent with him.

Question is, if somebody is giving you that many issues to gripe about, then why are you spending an enormous amount of time on a fan community site dedicated to that particular artist? I know we are all entitled to our opinions but it makes no sense, that someone spends so much of their time and energy ranting about their discontent for one artist, day in and day out, when they could be using that time embracing an artist they're happy with. At least that would be time well spent.

If someone wishes to join P's new site and can afford it, then so be it, it's their choice, not mine and not yours.If others can't join the site right now because they have other obligations, okay, then that is understandable, as they apparently have obligations and priorities that have to be met. Like someone mentioned on another thread, this is about "entertainment," not a basic need or overhead expense that needs to be paid, like an electric bill/mortgage/fent/food bill/transportation money forto get to work/child support,etc., so one has a choice to make a personal responsibility decision, as to whether they can afford money for entertainment expenses or not. No one is putting a gun to anyone's head and forcing them to join. It's a personal choice. That's just my two cents. Want some more coffee?

Prince fans hate each other bottom line. It will become increasingly dangerous to attend live shows over the next few years, better come strapped if you want to hear Purple Rain. May you live to see the dawn, now I know what that statement meant

I can't believe weather to join an artist site seems to have become such a serious issue. What difference does it make, you think it's worth joining join, you don't you don't. I don't get it.

After being burned once by Prince's NPG "lifetime" membership, that he closed without a word to the subscribers.....I don't think so! Thanks, but no thanks Prince, in this recession, I have better things to do with my $77!

Even if many people here have had good experiences with Prince's previous online escapades, they surely can't be blind to other customer's bad experiences, and lack of, let's say, customer service from the Prince camp resulting in many people, people just like you, still being out of pocket. So why all the blind "I'm signing up" responses?

Aren't we all supposed to learn from history - even those who weren't negatively affected by it?

I can't speak for you guys but I'm just glad that Prince is back on the web again. After all that we went through with him calling the net "evil" or whatever, it's about time that he realized that his presence was needed on here again. Whether you join the site or not, just knowing that the option is there when it wasn't a year ago today is wonderful IMO.

I would like to have the t shirt, but do not care about pictures or videos. I have plenty of those that I rarely watch anymore. The only thing I care about is a concert. I haven't seen him since he last came to Detroit in 2004. If he announces a tour and I see a Detroit date, then I will join to get the presale tickets.

I'm on social security. My hubby works for Chrysler and is laid off all of the time. I told my daughter I couldn't afford a pair of Pastry shoes she wanted for $70, so I'm sure not going to buy myself a website subscription for $77 right now. Personally, I think asking that amount is greedy and a shame.

I've been a Prince fan since I was 11 years old (I'm 36 now). For many years, I thought everything he did was brilliant, but as I'm getting older, he is sure getting on my nerves.

I hate to say it, but this is still not enough to get my $$. After bad experiences with NPGMC (not to mention 1-800-NEW-FUNK before that) I am very cautious about this venture... even so, after reading about the possibility of 10 CDs worth of unreleased material, I was reaching for some cash!! But this article has brought me right back down to earth.

and here's why:

T-Shirts are great, but not worth the $77 to join the club.

I can't travel to L.A., have heard no info of a tour, and even if there is one, the likelihood that he comes to my town are slim at best. So access to live shows isn't likely to do me any good.

I'm not interested in pictures. Not new pictures, not old pictures, I just don't care. I don't even like that big book of pictures that I bought last year just to get the CD inside.

(aha, I bought a book of pictures I didn't want to get the MUSIC that came with it... let's get to the music now)

I am VERY interested in exclusive music and video. BUT... I want to know what I get for my $$.

I'm not interested in the downloads of the 3 CDs that I will be buying less than a week later at Target. I can wait.

I expect that any videos will be low quality and imbedded so they can't be saved. I only pay for videos of decent quality that can be watched on my home theater system.I'm just not interested in the low quality videos I can only watch on the computer...

I need clear information on exclusive music. Teasing about 10 CDs worth of exclusive music gets my attention, but not my $$, for that I need details. And I'm not talking specific track list and disc length details. I'm just saying, promise up front a minimum number of exclusive tracks or discs. Teasing the possibility doesn't cut it.
