if you look closely you can see columns to the outer edges of the window.

its kind of boring all this mystery about what's coming up.

I see what you're talking about, is that new? Haven't really looked that closely at it before. Looks like there are several vertical bands with different alpha values, so that the image fades in and out as it enters and leaves the window. Don't think there's anything of note coming there.

there's absolutely NOTHING there. a quick screen grab and fiddle in photoshop reveals everything... which is nothing

Depending on your monitor settings, you probably won't see the columns but will definitely see the image fading in as it enters and out as it leaves. I had to twiddle with my settings and look hard to see them, but they are there.

But they serve only as a means to create the fade effect.

I think I can wait to see what everyone else is seeing. I tried all night before I said "lemme stop before I break my eyes some more..." (Wearing glasses already..) All I can see is smoke/clouds moving from right to left. They fade as they leave and come back fading in. They look like abstract shapes to me...

I think y'all are just saying that to mess with the rest of us...

not saying there ISN'T but trying to see something is killing my eyes.

Compared to some of the threads round here, this one is pretty sane.

Actually, on my desktop computer I have internet explorer and my screen only shows from where those columns are and inside. On my current computer I have a wider screen view. I am not sure if it is internet explorer or the different computer.
