It's a nice, light, pop-like groove... I still say this can not possibly be what JB was talking about, when he used "Controversy" as a comparison. "Controversy" is hard, fat, throbbing FUNK... But don't worry folks...

Prince has PLENTY of Funk up his sleeve 2 come.

Meanwhile, I really dig the radio songs... "Colonized Mind" is the BOMB. LOVE his vocal in that one.

why does everyone keep saying that this or any of the other tracks
that were premiered yesterday are not controversy 2. like they are
critics with a degree in controversy song arrangement.

we can all hear they sound nothing like controversy but no one has
said they do or should.

all that was reported was that prince invited john to listen to an
ounce of new cuts which john described as sounding like an updated
controversy.

the man probably has 50 songs written and ready to go. so who knows
what he played and what he didn't play. simply because 5 songs show
up doesn't mean they are the ones john heard.

also, who said anything about this song being on the new album? or
for that matter, who said there is a completed album? prince played
"an album's worth" or material for the Sovel of which he gave him
4 tracks to play on the radio.

an album's worth of material does not constitute a completed album
even if prince has 10 songs on a particular cdr.

he's shopping ideas and atmospheres around and i think a definite
tracklist won't materialize for this "album" until about a week
before it's sent to the presses.

Upon listenin to this track the first time, I got to like it, but after listenin to it a second time while readin the lyrics, I love it now, so I can't even IMAGINE how the others sound.
