Mmmm...Don't know...Sounds more like Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood. Which is kind of ironic if you think about it.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

That's the worst guitar playing I've ever heard from him. The sound is awful, over compressed, and he never had to use a stupid floyd rose vibrato to deliver great effects.

I can't wait for Prince to really grow up and quit all this boring and sterile extravaganza.

I'm sure we all have had our complaints about different things, so I can't challenge you on the guitar playing, except to say that I loved it!

In repsonse to your last statement, he's making millions from not growing up and being boring & sterile. So I say, keep it up Prince!! lol

Nothing is wrong with the actual playing, but I agree with you on the sound.
The tremolo has to go!
I prefer a much "cleaner" sound. If someone else enjoys it though, that's fine.

I agree 100% . . . . that playing was downright horrible. Too much distortion, no clarity on notes being played, too much primping and posing. LESS IS MORE!!!

For some reason everyone keeps saying that it was "Rock Lobster" when it doesn't even sound anything like it. I agree, it is "Dr.Feelgood".

Funny how when this tour was happening I sent in a few words on diffrent topics and how time has shown what I said to be true no matter the feed back and here it is his way of showing his own show I feel that this will come out on DVD soon and the thing about him and how he has to defend his name on the internet again here comes the right to what can be done with a image don't just say what ever about a comment we all have the right to voice a saying but it is his life we are just fun of his music on that note I like the twins and how they blend well on stage kind of a twist with Mayte but a little more it brings back the days of wild and maybe this will help him make the chioce to stay on stage a little longer peace .

Sorry but I can't agree with you on that. Just listened toDr. Feelgood, and while there is maybe one similar-sounding section elsewhere in the song, Rock Lobster is pretty much exactly what Prince and the band have been playing this summer.

If such were permitted, I would post snippets of each to illustrate what I mean.

I just listened to "Rock Lobster" again, and the guitar in the song sounds very similar to "Dr. Feelgood". It's hard to say which song it is that Prince actually included in his setlist. hmmm

Jestyr

A picture of one of the setlists from the O2 turned up on Housequake. It has Anotherloverholinyohead listed but no mention of Rock Lobster nor Dr Feelgood.

The part he is playing is simply a 'rock tag' he added to the end of Anotherlover... Since the studio version fades out on Parade he needed to create an 'ending' of sorts.

Please stop comparing it to a real song. It is not one.

Okay open 3 different browsers - Two for youtube and one for 3121. Play 'Rock Lobster' in one, 'Dr. Feelgood' in the other and Prince's concert featuring the segment in question. In doing so you can make the true clarification. Please note there is a chance that it is the same riff but with effects (guitar pedels) the audio is tainted. Also note Prince is a fan of Motley Crue (as noted by Mayte (who's this) to Tommy Lee.

This begs the question doesn't when you were mine sound like cant take the place of your man?"

The thing about it is that the title alone should make it obvious. I mean he just sang another lover hole in your head so following it with Dr. Feelgood would make more sense. In reality though they are the same song riff/cadence wise - just that the emphasis is on it "sounding like" Dr. Feelgood.
