I know many members are concerned that the "One Nite Alone...Live" 3 disc set will complete our 2002 membership. I think that all the members should email the club Today and let them know that if this is there intention, that we will not be renewing our memberships in 2003. We were told we would get 4 cds ("One Nite Alone" "Xenophobia" "Last December" and "Best of...") as well as "other magnificent stuff" and that you had to join in order to receive them. I attended a concert, soundcheck and afterparty- but I joined the club for NEW music and it looks as if that's not going to happen. What even makes me madder is the fact that "ONA...Live" will be available outside of the club for anyone to buy. Is it false advertisment and a big fucking disappointment...we will see... Socks still got butt like a leather seat... | |

Eye dont blame anyone complaining.. it has been like 8 months in2 the club, and nothing special has been brought to my attention with this club, except the cd we got, in which he already gave us close 2 half of the songs from our first membership.. u want me 2 be happy and put on a smile over this? and overpriced candles and junk.. this is the "magnificant stuff" they were talking about..???

yes, you don't blame anyone for complaining because you are the #1 complainer in every single thread that comes up on this site, Stephan. what's the matter? between jobs? got a lot of time on your hands? I'm sure there is some volunteer work you could do in Jackson. It would probably make you feel better about yourself than talkin' trash. just a thought. | |

The email I posted above also mentions "at least 4 cds" wouldn't it be great if we all got the 3 disc set and the others mentioned in the Tour Program! Ya right... What we are complaining about is poor customer service. The 1st year of the club was awsome! 2nd year SUCKS! peroid. Xenophobia- are you a member? I think that if you were you would fell the same. NPGMC e-mail says "4 new cds" - well thats what you are getting. 4 new cds - not 4 used cds - not 4 cds of new songs - but 4 new cds. Nobody was lied to. Doesn't matter how many titles for cds he listed in the back of a program - he said 4 new cds & that is being provided for. | |

I sent the following email to the music club on October 6th Dear NPG Music Club: I (and many others) are concerned -- Rumors are circulating that we will not be receiving exclusive CDs as part of our 2002 NPG Music Club membership - instead we will be receiving a 3 CD live set that is to eventually be released at retail and therefore not exclusive at all... Can you let the NPG Music club members know what they will be receiving before the clubs year end... Is it the Live set or 3 more exclusive CDs as promised A lot of NPG Club members feel let down and in the dark as to what their membership fee has got them - An online petition is being created with many are saying they will not rejoin the club in 2003 and seek refund for 2002 from their credit card providers (a common course of action for non delivery of product and one that protects the consumer in such cases as non delivery). Please note -I know one response is the club offers so much more particularly in the area of concerts and priority seating - My response to that is - while the pre-sale tickets are nice, Most artists are offering pre sale tickets to 'online club members' (I have bought them this year for Beck, David Bowie and Ryan Adams to name a few - and all I had to do was sign up for a news letter advising when they would go on sale without a $100 dollar club fee!) I joined the club because I love the music and was under the impression I would be receiving 'at least 4 new CDs' not one cd and a three CD live set (That I will be able to buy at Retail probably for under $25 dollars). This is all a shame because I think the intention and premise of the club is a good one-It has been the execution of the club's commitments (regarding the 4 CDs of exclusive music). Of course given that there is another 4 months till clubs official year end there is hope something good is going to happen (there is still time for the remaining 3 CDs to arrive. However lack of information regarding delivery schedules is frustrating and annoying to your club members. Cryptic answers as to what to expect do not satisfy in this case — it has been 8 months and only one CD has arrived... With no news...or explaination A club by its very nature demands communication and in this case delivery of promised product-Please let the NPG Music club members know (in clear language) what is happening regarding the 4 CDs before it is too late ... It would be a shame to see the club collapse next year because members either seek refunds from their credit card providers for 2002 or do not join again in 2003. Some people here would have you beleive that Prince, soley on the basis of being an artist (I'm an artist too, BTW, and I deliver what I promise my buyers - generally informing them as to when they'll recieve their work), can simply do as he pleases, whenever he pleases, and that we should all just be tickled pink with whatever he elects to do in this regard. And as a matter of fact he can do what he likes, so long as he doesn't pocket my money and run off to Toronto. As a consumer - practically a SHAREHOLDER - of NPGMC, you (and I) have every right under the sun to make inquiries and voice our opinions regarding the level of service we receive; which is just about all I've heard anyone ask around here. There has to be a solid explanation as to why i've gotten more music (and better music) from traders and websites in the past year than from Prince's so-called "premium memebership", and i haven't spent anything close to $100 yet. | |
