Quick Survey - R U Pleased with NPGMC

I was just wondering, because it was truly stressful when those UK tickets first went on sale...but in the end they sorted it out (I'm speaking from my experience!!).

Now the dust has settled how are you feeling about the club?

Personally I'm well pleased with it - I joined up, haven't got my CDs yet, but am looking forward to some amazing shows!

So what's your experience?

*Peace* Om

Let's put it this way, when I tried to book tickets for the London shows, the retail section crashed twice.

Having sent 5 notes to NPGMC I was told that 'this would be taken care of' and have heard nothing since.

For my 100 US, I have had the privilege of not getting tickets because their servers could not cope with the traffic, have not had good customer service and have had zero CDs in the post.

So, I am not that pleased right now.

Having said that, if they sort out those tickets, I will be a very happy man

At the moment I would have to say no,I have not had $100 worth. We will have to wait and see what the future brings, does the triple live album count as the remainder of our promised 4CD's or just 1??? What else can we expect for our $100???

Maybe Im just greedy or expect too much but the club is a mess.

Much love yes Pochacco

i have been pleased so far. 3 soundchecks, 3 concerts, 1 aftershow, 2 nights of the celebration, and the ona disc, so far. i can, however, understand folks overseas being a little less satisfied, at least at this point.

i, also, understand the ticket problems. i went to the louisville, ky. usa. show that was sold through ticketmaster. there was a password given out by npgmc, but it didn't match the one that worked for ticketmaster (someone misspelled "nikki",the password that worked was niki). he changed the ticket process for the atlanta, ga usa shows (those 2 were the first to be sold through the npgmc site), and the server crashed all day long, the same way as for london. i did end up with superb seats for the 2 atlanta shows. i ended up in the balcony for the louisville/ticketmaster fiasco, but it all workedout in the end.

Yes & No

Yes-For my $100 this year I've gotten a CD, tickets that landed me in the 3rd row at One Night Alone, soundcheck and concert and free entry for me and my guest at the aftershow.

No-I think that Prince isn't using the club to it's full potential musically. Perhaps by the end of the year he might improve in this area. Certainly releasing a live album is a step in the right direction.

well, other than the fact that i'd like to see NPGMC give us more concrete information (not unreasonable to ask) i think the club is adequate. not great but not terrible either

i trust them to get the CDs to us, that doesn't bug me. what bugs me is not even hearing anything about what the CDs might be.

Pleased with:

1. ONA CD, which I think is a great album for fams and, even though it'll probably be made for sale at NPG retail next year, it's still exclusive for the time being.

2. One concert that I got front row seats for with my wife, and got to attend the soundcheck as well (although there was no aftershow).

Unhappy with:

1. Seeing a bunch of fruity wanna-be celebs at the ONA live cd listening party in NY, and being a paying club member who wasn't invited and wasn't even informed about the listening party via the club website. "Only members will get the new joints 1st," I remember reading... oh, really?

2. A lack of firm information on upcoming releases that rivals that of the WB days.

Reserving judgement until:

1. February 1, 2003, 12:01 a.m. If I have in my possession three more new Prince albums than I do right now, I'll will be satisfied. If I'm sitting there with ONA (the piano album) and the ONA live 3-CD set as the four albums I got for $100, I will be honked off, especially if ONA live is available at Best Buy down the street for the average bloke to buy.

It's a dream to have the NPGMC. I have been super happy with all of the great music, great seats (and I mean the BEST seats) and having Prince come down off stage to get a REAL close look at my jacket (THANKS RICCO - it looked GREAT! Prince LOVED it.) And XENOPHOBIA was out of this world. I will continue to support the club. I just love it. THANK YOU Prince!!!

Peace!

I am pleased with the club, but feel it could be massively better. I preferred last years format with monthly downloads, as it at least gave some new music to look forward to each month.
RIP sad

(reposted from another thread)

this is what i got:

1) a four hour wait in the sun for a concert and still got in the middle of the auditorium...*then*, since there werent enough seats for the npgmc members, a bunch of people got to *stand* in front of me during the whole damn concert...and i picked the seats because there werent other people (or seats) sitting in front of me...talk about evil

2) two questions during the rehearsal

3) a thirty minute cd that sounded like prince made it while waiting for the turd to hit the pool

4) NO AFTERSHOW for the *only* concert in the SF area...by all means one of the largest and most important markets in the whole damn world

5) and a vague promise that i could possibly receive for free or have a chance at buying it prior to its release, 4 disc live set

now granted, if i get the live discs, i will feel that the club was worth my dimes...however, at this point, *i*, feel screwed...

The Best Music Club I ever joined...
The only one I ever joined that gave me anything free.
The only one that let me have front seats at the concert
The only one I ever joined that let ONLY
members/dates come to a 7-day concert celebration to see
Prince perform for $35 per concert.:wOOt:

Oh I forgot...I got free 5 by 7 glossy photo with the other
two clubs I joined...membership fee $25 per year each.
I was promised to be notified of concerts ahead of time...
but I wasn't..let alone pre-sale tickets.

Yep...best music club I ever joined!!!lol

NPGMusic Club...:wOOt:
So...how's everybody doing? smile

Up until the tickets fiasco I was quite happy with the NPGMC. Now, all I've had is the One Nite Alone CD (can't remember the last time I actually played it) and the promise (I think) of the 3CD live set, which I've got little enthusiasm for because it will just remind me of the European tour that I couldn't get concert passes to because of the crappily slow NPGMC site.
Although no promises are made (except the 4 CDs), you are definitely led to believe certain things about the club to entice you to join, but so far this year for me it hasn't delivered at all.
My enthusiasm for Prince in the past few weeks has dropped tremendously and I don't care what's promised next year, I definitely won't be renewing my subscription.

At the moment eye am not pleased, but that will change once eye´ve witnessed the soundcheck & received the 3 other NPGMC CD´s.

When eye joined the club eye thought eye would have a new Prince album every other 3 months... 2 bad it did not work out that way..

sigh

Not all that happy at the moment.

Being an Aussie I've got one CD and that's it. I wouldn't be bothered normally as the year is not over but the problem is that the fucking club never tells you anything.

Maybe by the end of this club year I'll be happy.

My great fear at this stage is that the 3cd Box set will count as the last 3 cd's for this year. Maybe I'm just paranoid but dont be surprised.

Anyway, if he comes and tours here I'm sure I'll be happy. Lets see.
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

The Cd's posted in the tour book is what we are getting.. if it isnt.. Me and Prince are gonna have some serious problems, simply being the fact, that doing that is false advertising:)

So, Prince should be wise, and release the one's stated

Currently, not pleased at all. I tried to log in today and got a "membership expired" message and a $41 dollar balance due somehow...

Still trying to figure that one out. I thought $100 bucks was for the the year. Waiting on their reply. The only thing I can figure is that maybe I joined at this time a year ago and they're billing me for the remainder of the year, in which case I guess I just paid $59 for One Nite Alone. Does this mean i don't get the other CD's?

Honestly, I think their biggest weakness is an effeciant and informative customer service department. Would a phone number be so damned hard list for tech or accounting help? Timely and accurate information wouldn't suck either; a little less of this "you'll get what we say when we say" mentality and little more respect for their customers. I never even got an e-mail informing me that my membership expired or asking me to renew, and since I rarely have a reason to visit the site, how was i supposed to know? Even the magazines I subscribe to let me know when it's time to renew.

Sometimes it seems like 3 people are running the whole site. Right now, I will NOT renew, unless the final CD's make it worth it (that is, if I even get them).

As I have said before, I spend $100 on dinner some nights. Supporting one of my favorite artists directly is well worth it. Whatever he wants to share with me, we're cool. I'm just want to make sure I'm along for the ride.

All you negative-haters, please don't join again. I only had 5th row tickets at the last show and next time I want row 1. If there are only 3 other members besides me, woo-hoo! that will be the best soundcheck ever!

I'm amazed at how many Prince music lovers have a strange perception of value when it comes to money this year.

NPGMC SUCKS THIS YEAR when it comes to value for $100.

The religious fanatic shouldn't be charging so much money just 2 be "a member" of such a poorly run service.

So beyond "not pleased" but shocked at how it actually got worse from last year.

I'm not unhappy, but it could B a lot better. A lot of
the potential isn't fulfilled, and it probaly won't B.
It could B a lot more "happening" place, with downloads,
surveys etc.
