September 30:

CHUCK D:
New Head of Programming 4 MTV Hip Hop!

Does this mean that we'll see the "Face Down" or other Hip Hopish songs by Mr. P?

I'd be surprised if this were true, especially considering all those in control of the media. Anyway, since when does MTV play videos anyway?

Sounds like a joke to me as well. Maybe someday, in the distant future, Mr. P will actually say what he means rather than in mysterious code
Nah, I doubt it

Quit hating on hiphop goddamn it, if you are gonna judge the entire artform based on chart shit like Nelly or Ja Rule then we should be judging rock music based on Linkin Park or some shit like that razz

Anyway Chuck D tells it like it is... here:

See in response to my Pink thread...I really like you Ice, and many times I agree with you...but can't you see the value in some rap? There is some worth in every musical genre whether it's your thing or not. And for as much as I hate country I think it has its place. Don't you even like Missy? or Beastie Boys?

Banned? Or simply declined to play it because they figured their teeny-bopper audience wouldn't be interested in a group of rappers who are near/over 40 years old?

I think this means that p and the npgmc would like to see Chuck become the new program director, because MTV just plain sucks.

They wanted PE to edit the content of the audio. Some incarcerated controvertial figure was shouted out
("...free ___") and PE refused. I don't think MTV considers relevancy anymore - just air-ability.
