Celebration 2003 Ideas (something different)

I think a cool line up would be a bunch of street musicians and artists.

You know the kid on the corner of the street hittin the plastic buckets but makin more sound out of your trash than a multi - million dollar studio. The other guy, down the street blowin on his sax/trumpet with more soul than you ever heard at church.

Instead of having professionals on stage every night, have more of a festival around the outside of the park during the day. Tap, stompin, 3 peice jazz band, street artists.

In fact, maybe everyone attending can have their place in and around the park doing whatever they do best. There could be stands set up that provide side walk chalk, water color paints, pencils. The musicians would have the opprotunity to play acousitc sets around the building and everyone could walk around and check each other's stuff out.

P would have to participate with everyone as well.

Then maybe even contests broken up into categories like music, drawing, painting, etc. The winners would get Paisley stuff.

Overall, I think it would be cool to see more of a celebration of music and art in general and everyone can take part of the creativity or be a spectator.

But you'd also have, of course, every night, a kick-butt performance of Prince and the band doing jazz/funk fusion and other, more obscure songs.

Watcha think?

I know what you're saying, but I'd be very surprised if Prince did another 7 night performance.

That's why he only did a couple of hours a night as it was. Billy "Sparks" told someone that Prince needs to rest his voice. He doesn't sing 7 nights in a row when he's on the road.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love it, but I just don't think it probable. IMO

That's what I meant by long jazz/funk fussion instrumental jams. That wouldn't be so bad to those kind of concerts a few nights. (to rest his voice)
