I'm sorry but that's just fucked up. It should have been on the Club first. Wow.

What difference does it make where it is first? Its not concert tickets where there is a limited supply or better quality for the first buyers.

It's Prince's official site and the vehicle to sell his music online. I guess all is out the window with P being with a major label again. Whatevs. shrug

your reply is exactly why I won't be complainig that I was able to get this track from Itunes versus NPGMC. I always have issues when I get tracks from the club.

ps, sorry i have no good advice on how to fix this...I believe in the past I've had to download the track again to get it to work...

Hey D,

Do you know if that means I won't be able to download from the club and put it on my iPod?

TX just told me on the club that I would have to rip it to a CD then download to my iPod. I'll wait til the club had the actual CD single for sale and buy it then.

If you want to get the track onto your iPod without having to burn it to a CD and re-import it, just buy it through iTunes. 99 cents instead of 77 cents at the club (for members), but the 22 cents extra is worth it for no hassle iPoding

Yeah, I thought about that but I really wanted to support the club.

Universaluv

The explanation from the club is that they'd agreed to sell it on 12/13, but sites in different countries took advantage of different time zones and were able to sell it a few hours earlier.

Understandable oversight, but it seems so obvious that they really should have contracted around this. I'd be surprised if it happens again.

Understandable -- I'm a club member myself, but given the choice, I'm buying tracks off iTunes rather than from the club. AAC files from iTunes that work for Macs or PCs and on iPods are far better than Windows Media files from NPGMC that work on PCs, might work on a Mac (without CD burning support, unless you jump through hoops) and won't work on an iPod without first being re-ripped. I don't want a copy of a copy of my digital music...I just want my digital music.

why do you want to support the club when it is making things difficult? Why not support the idea of Prince music on iTunes instead? The more copies these things sell on iTunes, the more it will catch Prince's attention, thus the more likely it will be that he releases other music there. And the iTunes store is the easiest to use and most flexible choice. It's the only place where Macintoshes and PCs are treated as equals. Thus the only place where you choice of where to buy music and videos doesn't lock you into a specific computer OS.

Since I'm not in a hurry to hear the new song, I'll probably wait til it's released on CD.
