Where were YOU when the NPGMC's lights went out? a year ago this week:
Monday, July 23rd, 2003: An e-mail from NPG Music Club asks members to "help the cause" and send in "anything with a WB logo that was unofficially released during Prince's tenure at that label." Many examples were provided. The e-mail listed a post office box number in Vermillion, Ohio, to where fans could send the records, but there was no mention of a reward, reimbursement or compensation. The Prince fan community responded very negatively to the request although most fans simply laughed off the idea that they would send in expensive, rare recordings simply out of respect for Prince. --from the vault ...holy flaming hohners, how the tides change within the course of a year.

Ain't nothin changed....if ya'll paid attention instead of hatin on the NPGMC all the time you'd know that Prince is STILL negotiating a contract for the release of special editions of past WB's albums.

Prince probabbly wants to scare WB Execs. He demonstrates how crazy his fans are, that they would even go as far as to mail back their rare collectable Prince CDs on a whim if he emails them to do so. He will then dump boxes of these CDs on the desk to illlustrate this point, then threaten to send these rabid lunatics after them if they don't hand over his music...

I think you're onto something there, Tom. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.
