Prince definitely earned his crown in my book at the Palace for the Detroit show June 21st! I was prepared to make sure this was the best weekend ever with Prince being in town for 2 shows. I had attended the night before (20th) and brought my Prince symbol sign, which I held up most of the show (everybody remembered that sign). The first night, my seat was on the end on the side of the stage where the band entered and exited, and where they rolled in Prince in his 'little bitty ol' box'. I also brought flowers that night for every member of the band in different colors. At the end of the Purple Rain encore, I was able to give the flowers to Mike Scott, who took them back to the dressing room. The next night, my seat was in the front row next to the gate to the stage. The head of security said he wanted some extra people on stage, so my friend and I assured him, we would not let him down if given the chance, so he said okay and told the guy to let us up on stage. He said "smile, dance, and don't touch Prince (which you don't have to tell a REAL fan). I danced and held my side of the crowd. Then the band broke into "Life of the Party". I was singing every word, which Prince noticed (nobody else on stage knew the new stuff). He then HANDED ME THE MICROPHONE! I sang four verses and he took the microphone back and pointed at me when he sang the line "all the beautiful people gon' be there, putting the I in fine". A few minutes later, Chance Howard starting singing (don't remember the song, an old school joint) and came and danced with me, and we gyrated as he sang a couple of verses. I also checked back with Mike Scott on the flowers, and he said he passed them out (I had also included a personal note and my email address). If I had not been a Prince fan for so long, I was definitely reborn last night!! I give shout outs and props to my Detroit Crawl peeps, and to let you know that school is definitely in, and I have graduated!! THANK YOU PRINCE, AND LET'S DO IT AGAIN! I WILL SEE YOU IN CHICAGO AND BACK IN DETROIT IN JULY.

Yeah, I'm still hatin' Traci , but U did do your thing, as did my girl Jeannie (who I'm also hatin on only because she got 2 dance on stage with Prince and I didn't! ) U both looked good up there, U represented yourselves and the Detroit Crawl without falling all over Prince like he was God. LOTP is my sons favorite song, so we were both SO intrenched in it
that everything else was oblivious...

But, EVERYTHING sounded good about that song that night...so you must
have been DEAD ON IT!

LOTP has turned into a favorite of mine too...especially when the black lights
come out and he hits "'shakin' like a leaf on a tree..."

seemed that besides all the detroit crawl peeps and most of the npgmc members that knew the joint, you were on point and the only one singing it on stage with prince (well, besides jeannie too, but i could not see her, she was across the stage).

and you didn't even need an earpiece. he gave you the mic and you ran a mile and a half with it and we were all exhausted when life o the party and knock on wood were in the books.

just like red she devil and jeannie, you are now a part of history -- in our minds 4ever.
