OK, I've been excited to bring my six year old son to the show tonight and he has been excited too. He loves Prince, has been to other concerts (actually his first one was when he was three we saw Ringo Starr and Sheila E. was on drums!) Anyway, the reason I'm worried is becasue I got the member tix and so far both nights have had front row tix. I'm afraid that being front row he won't be able to see. The chairs seem a bit unstable for him to stand on (and I read another report that at another show security would not let someone's little girl stand on the seat) And lord help me if I gotta hold him! That boy is big now! I guess we'll just have to play it by ear, I almost wish we had seats a little up on the side and he would be able to see better and perhaps enjoy the show more. But We'll likely have front row again and just have to see what happens. Anyone else bring your kids and have experiances with how front row tix worked out for them?

i am buying member tix when it is me and an adult attending. For the 9/10 show in San Jose I am bringing my 10 year old niece so I elected to buy through ticketmaster and I ended up getting really good side seats which will be a lot better for my niece

+ give me a different look at the whole concert

Yea. That is an idea. I don't know how we would arrange it but it is possible I guess. When we get there we'll see how it looks and if it looks like or seats would not be good for him maybe we'll see if someone who wants to be up front wants to trade.

On Wednesday night there was a man in my row with his young daughter. She was having a ball, but he did have to hold her up for the first half of the show. After that, she fell asleep, and he laid her down on the seats behind us (as everyone was on their feet!).
Trading may be the best option. If you're that close, just find a section that looks like it would have a good view and ask a few people. I'm sure someone would be willing to trade for floor seats.

My son and I were in the front row last night and he had a blast! He's 9 so he may be a little bigger but security let him go up to the gate so he could see. He saw the entire show! Probably had one of the best views of anyone in the place!

Are you going to get to see them during their current reunion tour? I have tickets for their Dallas show in October. I cannot WAIT! I didnt become a fan until just before the broke up. I've seen a few Frank Black shows which were great but never the Pixies. Im actually thinking of driving to Austin and seeing them there also. Their one of my favorite bands of all time. There was this guy in front row who had a little boy with him. Not only could the boy not see anything, but the speakers seemed to loud for him as he held his ears throughout the show. He was wearing plugs as well.

Arghhhh! See, now this makes me nervous again! I wish they could just come up with a stool or something he could stand on. Both shows I've been standing with my arms against the fence. If we could just elevate him to the right height it would be great! He's got ear plugs of course. Hope its not too loud for him. Well, we'll just do our best. If I have to hold him up all night so he can see I will. Or we'll try to trade or see if security can help us or whatever.

No that wasnt me I was wearing a white shirt. My son had earplugs too but he had to cover his ears a couple times too but it wasnt too bad for him.

Hey! It worked out just fine! We had second row seats this time which was nice, on the "West" side of the stage, real close to where he lays down and Chance brings him the blanket and Rolling Stone. We saw that bit really well right up close and it was funny as all get out! His facial expressions, he did that bit a little different this time. Didn't make a big deal of the Rolling Stone this time but kept pretending like he was trying to sleep and took the blanket and threw it vback at Chance.

So the kid was a trooper. At first he alternated between standing on the chair watching, dancing on the floor etc. He had his earplugs in but it was still pretty loud for him. And then halfway through the acoustic set he lay down on the seats and fell sound asleep! He looked like a little angel! Some of the ladies by me pointed and smiled like "awww. How cute!" Since he seemed fine sleeping I enjoyed the rest of the show. Great seats, nothing blocking the view on that side and Prince was over there quite a lot. Also it was where Rhonda hung out so got to watch her a lot! WHen Purple Rain starte I woke my son up so we could beat the crowd out, thinking I would have to carry him back to the car. He pepped right up and walked on his own steam and we heard Purple Rain echoing through the hallways as we wound ourselves towards our exit. On the way back he talked about what a great concert it was and how he really really loves Prince and wasn't this part good and that part was so fun and that lady playing bass and the one playing sax were really cool and that really big guy was so funny.... It didn't seem to bother him at all or even be any big deal that he slept through half of it! Hey! My kid has seen his first Prince show (at least outside of his Mother's belly! He sorta has been to a few way back when ) And he had a good time! What more could a Proud Papa lifelong Prince fan hope for!
