Bossier City may be small, but we represented on Saturday

sad I'm the most ticked off person at the moment. I organized a Meet N Greet for Saturday and my stupid, Prince hater, soon-to-be ex-boyfriend delayed my trip by over 20 minutes. I live an hour away from the venue, so I was hitting 90 on the interstate. Glad my car didn't fall apart. The traffic was atrocious and we missed 10 minutes of the show (the premiere of the "Call My Name" video and the Alicia Keys segment). We were hauling ass down dark stairs with 3 inch heels on to get to our seats, just as the Alicia Keys segment was ending and Prince was making his royal entrance. I'm sooooo sorry to everyone who was at the Meet N Greet. I was sooo excited about this and the idiot ruined it for me. I hope I didn't let any of you down. I still have the trinkets that I promised. I hand-made over 20 little Symbols out of different color beads. I would still love to give everyone who went to the Meet N Greet one, like I promised. I'll figure out a way to get them to ya'll....maybe by mail or something. Hopefully, I'll meet everyone someday soon. I was even more upset that I couldn't bring my camera inside, because we were right between two of the stage legs in the second row (the area where Candy was on our left and the band was right in front of us). I had on my handmade Symbol necklace and I had tied a miniature glow stick into the head. I was the only thing glowing in that entire section and I actually waved at Prince. He saw me and waved back and smiled.....biggrin I can die happy now. He looked in our direction for a large part of the show as did many of the band members....I think they were trying to figure out what the glowing thing on my neck was. Seriously, we were that close. biggrin The show was amazing. After he played "Sweet Thing", he paused for a moment, like he was trying to think of what song to sing next and the room got a little quiet (no screams at all). The guy behind us yelled, "Insatiable". My friend yelled, "Adore", and less than 10 seconds after she had said it, he started playing "Adore". I yelled, "Play it for me Baby" and he swiveled his chair in our direction.....thought I was going to have a heart attack, I was sooo excited. We sang along to every song and we were the only 20-somethings in a section with people who were 10 years or more older than us. The girls he brought on stage were a total disappointment.....they didn't even know any of the words to the chorus of the songs and they looked like they were afraid to dance next to Prince.....what the hell was wrong with them?!?! I would have been closer to him than his underwear. Our seats were the best...two rows away and right on the aisle closest to the stage, Sec. 8, Row B, Seats 4 and 5. I only sat down for 2 minutes during the first intermission and was screaming my head off for the entire show. Best experience ever and would love to see him again, if I had the time and money. Now, I'm officially a die-hard.

Other highlights for me was when he started singing the lyric, "I Think I Loooove Her" from Raspberry Beret, our section started screaming "I Think I Looove You" to Prince and he stopped and said, "Some girls are singing 'I Love You'." Then, he paused and said, "I Love You Too". Screams everywhere. Then, he did a guitar solo and he put the guitar on the stage, crawled on top of it, humped it for a few seconds, got off of it and stood back and watched it scream for more than 30 seconds. After it stopped screaming, he put a white towel on top of it and put it to bed. Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

I might have to figure out a way to get to the Essence Festival now, because I have to see him again.

I wasn't 2 far from u. Sec.6, row m. but i carried my prince fam butt up 2 the stage. i was about 3 ft from the guy who caught the blanket. he ripped it from a female's grip!! all I could think was "what a loser"!! any guy taking something away from a female like that needs mental help!!

The concert was awesome! This was the 4th time i've seen him per4m and it was as good as the rest of them. i tried 2 give him a purple shirt but security got in my face. by the way, what was the deal with that? how come they don't let u stand in an open spot? that was messed up.
the only time i've gotten closer was at a club in NC when he walked throught the crowd and I reached out and held his hand. then he smiled at me and kept walking.

Oh, and the ladies on stage, maybe next time they should pick at least 1 white lady at least i know the words. i could not believe there were only black ladies up there!! every other concert i've been 2 he had a wide variety.

oh, btw bossier city is in louisiana calhoun

peace

I was in section 1, row C.....behind the fat ass keyboard player. I wasn't really pleased with the seats. I didn't even know a video was playing before he got on stage. Hell, I didn't even know he was on stage for a couple of minutes. It was only cool when he came down the stage extensions. I could see him going climbing up and down the stage and going under the stage to change clothes though. I caught One Nite Alone show in New Orleans a couple years back (balcony seat) which made me decide to go all out this time to get up close. In my opinion, he had a better stage presence in TRC show and it was more intimate setting. The sound was also better (could be the dynamics of the venue, it was a theater). It was also a bit longer (second encore, Anna Stesia). I felt he rushed through the Bossier show. The set selection was awesome though. Wished he would have did another encore and brought the damn grand piano for heaven's sake. I was pissed to see he did better in Dallas and Biloxi. Yet and still I was determined to enoy it and I didn't sit down for a minute. I was surprised to see the crowd get into "7". They loved it. Personally, I was feeling the 'D.M.S.R.' and SOTT. I'm a young buck but I know a little something about that. That was funky! I think he should do Pink Cashmere during the Acoustic set. The band seemed to really enjoy themselves. So did Prince. During the times I could see him, he danced his ass off. I'm finished with the In the Round though if I can help it and I think the Essence show won't be as thorough, but he might act a fool to make sure everyone says he outshined all of the others. Wish I was old enough to see his 80's concerts.

wink

Holla back.

By the way, did anyone see the band leave the stage and the arena. I was thinking that the stayed under there until the crowd left. One of the staff guys said they left immediately. Of course, I didn't believe him. I left when the started breaking down the stage though. One guy did come out with some guitar picks, which I wasn't lucky enough to get one. No dice!

Holla back!

I know Bossier. It's a charming little town right outside of Shreveport. Wasted much time there.
