How are the chicks picked to go onstage?

Not that I plan on flashing anyone, but how has this been working so far?

People who need the excercise... ~ PRINCE, ALLADIN CONCERT.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Nope, he doesn't do the exercise thing anymore....nowadays it's generally the hoochiest of the mamas. At the Cleveland show I had to listen to this girl right behind me yapping into my ear for 3 or 4 songs flirting with Chance and arranging for her and her mother to get onstage. Chance seems like a totally fucking cool guy, but I don't like the way they're picking girls.

From what I saw, each band member would choose 2 people to go onstage...they would arrange it verbally, and then the band members would point the girls out to the security guy who mans the gate at the back of the stage, where Prince and the band come off and on stage. Chance told them to make their way to the gate when they start to play U Got The Look....but the girl and her mama went during Sign O' The Times.

During every show I saw, Prince also chose one audience member (again, generally from the back of the stage) to come up based on how crazy or suave or pimpin' their outfit was. That was always by far my favorite pick.

To be fair, there were plenty of really fun, beautiful, non-hoochy girls up there at the 4 shows I saw as well. Particularly the one who sang in Columbus - she was so fucking cute!

at the first couple of shows the band (horn mostly) would pick from that side of the stage.
now there is a security guy that walks around the floor picking out the dancers, that's the way it went down in Pittsburgh, Columbus and Cleveland.

Yeah, no longer do they pick obese women who wear white shorts like the one on the big screen from L.A. Sometimes they do throw in a goofy white guy for some laughs. They sprinkle in a few real sisters once in a while, but now it is mostly hotties that get picked so don't wear anything trashy. Like this girl I saw in Pennsylvania....had a skirt on that was shorter than her underwear. You could see everything and she didn't even have to bend over. Unfortunately she had big yellow hair and 3 teeth. So, if you are hot, dress like it and you might get picked.

Really? Because in Cleveland like I said I saw the whole thing go down with a girl and her mom behind me and Chance, and he said repeatedly "I can only pick 2!"

No wonder you get a large percentage of trashiness - you've got a SECURITY GUARD picking some of them. Security Guards rank right above the mentally handicapped...in fact, through my work I often come into contact with ex-Security Guards who are filing for disability with multiple mental and developmental issues.

Is it alright if I assume, Prince personally picked me to come on stage and dance because I held up the sign it was my 21st anniversary to the date seeing him? I am what he calls an old schooler. It had to be him considering none of the other band members saw me and it was Kim, his assistant/hairstylist that came from under the stage and pointed to me to follow her.

I wasn't dressed hoochie. I dressed to dance: 1 1/2 inch heeled black ankle boots, black DKNY nylon jeans and a long sleeve psychedelic bell sleeve shirt. And I wore the shirt to hide my winter fat (a couple of inches on each side).

I guess I'm going to have to start exercising and going on this stay-away-from-bread, cakes, and cookies-diet so, I can be small enough to show some abs and arms when he comes to Chicago in June. I will probably get a fake ponytail and put on a little make up so I can look like I'm trying to be sexy.

I tell you, it's hard being a woman trying to get on stage to dance. But, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. sexy

Incognito, sounds like you were what I described as "one of my fav picks" - you were the one Prince chose personally, FOR SURE. Have no doubt about that!!! In Champaign he picked a real cool, classy chick with a sign too. wink

So perhaps I should bring a sign saying "Hey Prince, it's my birthday! Can I come dance onstage with you? PLEASE!!!"

wink

j/k Even though it will be my birthday, I've got no intentions of dancing on stage. I'm too shy like that.

It kind of sounds like this has changed from being a fun fan thing into an outright competition to see who's hot or hootchie enough to do what it takes to get onstage for 10 minutes. I think it should be dropped if it's going to turn into a tacky sleezy tits and ass competition.

I don't dig this part of Prince's shows anyhow. It's a blast if you're chosen but how much fun is it for those who aren't chosen? He should drop this fans onstage bullshit.

Who told you it was GAY night, and why the fuck wasn't my faggot ass informed?

There was a lesbian couple right behind me in Cleveland...not lipstick lesbians, REAL lesbians, and they were so damn cute.

So by GAY do you mean lesbian, or were there lots of fags in attendance? Like I have to ask at a Prince show!

I agree completely...it is no fun for those who aren't chosen (the other 20,000 people in the arena). For them, it is just a bunch of fools dancing onstage and blocking the view of Prince.

In cleveland, there was a girl in a "dress" that was made out of a purple cutout of the O)+> symbol. The only extra piece of cloth was an extra arrow for the back. It was quite revealing. Prince called her on stage too - she wasn't one of the original people picked to dance.

I was told several times at the State College show that it was `goofy white guy night`. So I came dressed as such but they passed right over me and went for some hot women. So I don`t expect anything anymore. lol

I was ready to dance in black leather pants, high heeled boots, and a cute top. No one picked me to dance on stage, I just went up the stairs because I was determined to be up there next to Prince. It was awesome!!!
