My biggest "rant" of the whole evening was the fact that the club after gathering we went to was hosting "alterbative lifestyles" nite which was waycool but I was slightly perturbed that the D.J felt the need to edit Erotic City. I'm sorry but i didnt know that the word funk was dirty. Oh well thats about as much negativity as i coould come up with from my experience. Oh wait, come to think of it.....The A.C didn't seem to be on inside the arena. Is there a Bryce Jordan Center org that I can post a thread to? ( That's sarcasm ) . Much love & positivity !!

evillol they need a serious overhaul (players)..new DJ would be good

Ronthe2and4P

Ronthe2and4P, talking about "This crowd didn't deserve more"... Do you realize how pompous that sounds? Nice that YOU can pigeonhole an entire erena because they aren't up to YOUR standards. wink I'm GLAD you are able to go from city to city to compare shows, to compare how many spins he did during KISS in Cleveland than in Buffalo... some people actually will see only one Prince show this year... They probably don't even deserve that! Next time, let's ask Prince to ban State College, and every other crowd YOU deem unworthy!

As I said, I will take any tickets you unstatisfied customers want to provide!

Reading back, I do see how that sounds. I'm in no position to judge anyone that's for sure. Got to think a bit more before I speak, thanks for checkin me. smile

I've heard about NPG seat complaints but never really understood until this show. The sound was horrible from where I was and I kept getting lights in my eyes. So, I gave up my seat and somehow was able to sit in the club section and sat down there and really enjoyed the rest of the show. Kind of odd they did the acoustic set so early but I figured they were fixing the sound or something.

6. Not to steal any thunder from "Krebsne," who got to sing part of Kiss in Omaha I think itas now part of the show. Some chick did a little sing along with P during Kiss at this show also...sad woman didn't know the words...

I hear you welcum! He tried THREE TIMES to recreate that moment the next night in Ames as well. To be fair he has done this in the past. Maybe he realizes that a little gesture like that gets him tons of free press and exposure beyond the show.

I am still getting contacted about it. In fact I just got married last Friday and AT MY RECEPTION my wife's relatives made me sing that song- acappella! So at least in our community people who normally don't give a rats about Prince are still talking about him a great deal.

Don't know if they went out and bought any records but it can't hurt his chances, knowhutImean?
cool

welcum2thedawn... To say that the only people ejnoying these shows are "virgin prince concert goers" who don't know any better, or "Prince-can-do-no-wrong" fanatics, reflects an elitist attitude that clearly is missing the point of music as fun and celebration. (It ain't a term paper on the effects of preservatives on rectal function)
It's as if thousands of people who aren't as "in-the-know" as you, don't have ears, or a sense of rhythm. It's sad that you can't just have a good time and enjoy yourself.

Relax...I was only stating that if one doesn't have a refernce point, how would they know if it was a good show or not? Looking back, at first look, I thought the first show I saw was absolutely the best thing in the world...until I saw more shows...

I'm obviously not in the minority in feeling that the Penn State show was not the best Prince & Company has to offer...

Truth be told...there are "Prince-can-do-no-wrong" types out there who would have said a concert consisting of Prince on Kazoo being backed up by a troupe of cymbal clanging monkeys was the best concert since last years celebration...

Sames goes for the "concert-virgins"...if all you wanted from this years concert schedule was to see your favorite artist (ie Prince) for the very first time, nothing would have mattered, including acoustics, seats, set-list, or musical performance, except for the fact that you got to be there...

I'm am far from being an elitist nor was any offense intended to the "concert-virgins" - But the fact remains, for me at least, that this was not the best of what Prince has to offer, I reserve the right to that opinion, just as you reserve the right to feel that it was a good show...I can respect that...However, there is no need to make ANY sort of personal attack over an opinion (eilitist, assumptions of my preoccupations, etc.)
Peace Out, Trout!!

Just on another note...I would bet that the seating problems such as the view an acoutstics would have been solved my placing a 6"-12" riser under the floor level seats...would probably solve the view problems, some of the acoustics, and a bit of the lights in the eyes...
Peace Out, Trout!!

I don't understand. I thought Prince said the show was in-the-round and "there wasn't a bad seat in the house"???

Thanks for reminding me why this is the first Prince tour that I am skipping.

You're skipping the tour because of THAT? I'm glad I don't place so much importance on other people's opinions and reviews. They're fun to read, and that's about it.

From what I've observed on this site, Rupert Z doesn't have a positive comment to make about anything, so this isn't a surprise.
