Musicology His name is (usually) Prince, and he is funky. He’s also one of the artists most willing over the past decade to take chances with both the Internet and the music industry’s way of doing business, so we’re interested to see how his latest venture – his own artist-controlled download service – shapes up. The Purple One will offer tracks from himself and, soon, other artists for 99 cents a throw; his insistence on releasing his material on his own label puts him in a unique position to blaze trails for artists online.
