ASSIGNED SEATING, NO MO WAITING IN LINE Well, I'm turning 35 this year, and even though Eye ain't much different than Eye was 10 years ago, my back can b a pain in the...uh back...anyways...cut and pasted from the NPGMC site FAQ :
R the member tickets general admission or assigned seating? It depends on the venue and show. Most aftershows and small club gigs are general admission. But in theaters and arenas with assigned seating, all member tickets are also assigned seating. And all member tickets r within the sections closest 2 the stage. HELL YES...after dealing with sorry lame line breakers and total morons...we can all b friends now.

I DUNNO - WHEN I SAW HIM AT THE KODAK (WHICH HAD ASSIGNED SEATING) ALL THE MEMBERS STILL GOT IN LINE IN THE AFTERNOON SO THAT WHEN THEY LET ALL THE MEMBERS IN BEFORE THEY OPENED THE DOORS FOR EVERYONE ELSE, WE GOT TO CHOOSE WHICH SEATS WE WANTED IN THE FIRST 20 OR SO ROWS.....SO, I THINK WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT THE MEMBER TICKETS WILL BE FOR THE FIRST SECTION IN FRONT OF THE STAGE AND THEN THEY'LL LET OUR LINE IN FIRST AND, OBVIOUSLY, THOSE IN THE FRONT OF THE LINE WILL GET THE FRONT ROW SEATS. STILL THOUGH, I WAS WAY BACK IN THE LINE AND I STILL GOT TO SIT IN THE 10TH OR 11TH ROW.....

You're right about Kodak-we did get to choose our own seats within the first 15 rows...But here in Honolulu and Maui it was assigned seating and we did get screwed...With only 20 NPGMC members at both shows, we had people as far back as the 13th row...13th row isn't bad but when U see alot of "casual" fans who bought thier tickets after U through other outlets other than the CLUB, it is WRONG...I didn't discuss this be4 because it is still a sore point...NPGMC needs to do what they have to to guarentee fan club members the best seats...I'm sorry but I know if I fly a couple of thousand miles to go to a show and I'm in the 13th row with at least a 100 non members in front of me who bought thier tickets much later than me, I'm going to be ticked off...Hawaii members got screwed on this on...I knew someone who bought a ticket at the venue on Maui the morning of the show and got as better seat than most of us club members...This was blamed on the promoter, so NPGMC twist a few arms to take care of us...I would rather wait in line 4-5 hours to get a spot in the first 3 rows than be in the 13th behind a group of drunken fools who bought thier tickets just that morning...Aloha~

HELL YES...after dealing with sorry lame line breakers and total morons...we can all b friends now. Part of the fun for me is waiting in line. I get to socialize with other Prince fans...it's like a pre-party if you will. The part that bothers me the most is that seats will be *randomly* assigned--whatever that means. I think at least the tickets/seats should be assigned based on the order in which people purchase tickets--you know...the whole early bird catches the worm deal. And who's to say how random the process is? I'm willing to bet members that have been banned from one area of the club or another will be *randomly* assigned to the worst seats. With no soundcheck, I'm seriously considering buying through TicketMaster where I can choose my own seat... The message you're about to hear is not meant for transmission

I am going to the PA show and was wondering the same thing. I got my tickets via the presale and there was no seat number on my order. I emailed the venue asking if they knew how it would work and they replied:
"The fan club requests a block of seats from us so we have no way of knowing which seats they'll give you. You may want to contact them. Usually fan clubs assign the seats on a first-come, first-served but this one may have a different way of doing it. We look forward to having you visit the Bryce Jordan Center." So, I emailed the NPG MusicClub and my email keeps getting returned! Looks like their mailbox is a bit full! I really would like to know how to plan my day... do I go early and stand in line all day or can I casually come and get good seats? I hate not knowing! Thanks for listening!

Well, it also says the BEST seats R 4 Members. If this is true, this is the best way. Eye waited OVER SEVEN HOURS in line at 1 show 2 end up in Row 10. Eye would rather wait not one minute, and get great seats. Eye will..start another thread on this, after the Jacksonville show.

Well, u never know....so, ok, I'm glad it was done the previous way in the past, so I could meet U But, Eye am looking 4ward 2 a future without worrying about back pain. Some people have serious pain/issues, which just make attending the show difficult. So 4 them, this new way gives them at least some realistic chance 2 get a great seat as well...but of course, we'll all find out. Let's hope there R Atlanta shows!!

I wondered that same thing after seeing the RENO posts. As always, it might be a wait and see situation. I just hope they give some notice ahead of time. Especially if I'm driving 4 hours just to get there. BTW: Anyone heard anything about an aftershow yet? Peace **************************************************
