I am going to be there. As much as I would love to see him there, and would be overjoyed if he was. I think it would leave a bad taste in my mouth. I've had this feeling all along that if he had any intention of appearing, he should announce it. The event is for a great cause, a cause very close to Sheila's heart. His announcement could have sold a lot more tickets. As of this morning there are still floor seats available. That's sad. This is an event that could have sold out pretty quickly if he was on board from the beginning. I guess I understand if there are personal or professional reasons he cannot be there. I just wish that for the children he would have gotten involved.

I think that we should all know by now that Prince almost never makes public statements about any issue. So it's no surprise that he hasn't made it known whether he will appear or not. We might have problems with that, but it won't change anything.

His recent tour book was quite direct on the matter. To quote:

Who's to say Prince hasn't quietly donated a handsome amount to Sheila's charity? There have been some very obvious homages to the Family Jamm in the Reflection Room, and it seems clear that the event is going on w/ his blessings, for whatever that's worth. I can't really picture Prince onstage with all these people, rehashing the past and putting aside the many, MANY differences that have boiled up between him and most of the FJ participants in years past. On the one hand, yeah, it would be extremely cool if it happens - on the other hand, I just can't see it. Not that I hope it doesn't happen, mind you.

Prince or no Prince I'm still gonna have a good time tonight.

Prince is in L.A. Definite. Don't know if he'll show... but how can he not? What's he gonna do, sit up at the hotel while his old bands are playing his/their music?

What's happening? Is he there or not? Let us know. I've been absentmindedly following this for weeks and am very curious.
