BRISBANE SHOW - ADD TO THIS PEOPLE, I WANT THE FULL SETLIST! This was mind blowing! We got pretty much the same set I think as Melbourne, Sydney but were treated to a little medley of hits for the encore.
Flipping thru sheet music (!) he commented "so many hits, so little time." in this medley he played Diamonds & Pearls, Little Red Corvette, Raspberry Beret and the highlight for me How Come U Don't Call Me - UNBELIEVABLE!!! He then went on to jam for another 30 minutes or so with a guest bass player - Larry Graham from Sly and The Family Stone. As always, he concluded with Purple Rain which I must say blew me away. It was then off the the after show party... [This message was edited Mon Oct 27 15:13:56 PST 2003 by CRACKA79]

Sounds like another cool gig.
Dont worry guys, Larry didnt wreck the gig in Sydney. In fact, he was very good. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

I wish there was a bit of "Cream" or "gett off" in there... but he's right. Too many hits and not enough time. I don't care if it's unoriginal. Come on, he can't make every show different or he'd forget what he's doing.

I'm probably wrong, but I thought he said "So many hits so many times".
All that say he's getting repetitve or boring, why don't just listen 2 radio then? LOL

Yah... I'm fairly sure it was "so many hits, so little time". Either way it makes sense though!

He's been saying that "So Many hits So Little Time" BS as an excuse for his Las Vegas Medley Act. The sad thing is, he's been saying it since 1997 at least. Sure he can't make every show 100% different, but it doesn't mean he has to say the same stale stuff over and over. Just like in 1997/1998 he said that FAN/FANATIC analogy EVERY STINKING INTERVIEW he gave...geez Prince, say something DIFFERENT...be CREATIVE...he's too much of a force 2 reduce any part of his show to medleys, and he's too smart to just babble the same lines. That over-rehersed car crash routine in "Adore" on One Nite Alone is a perfect example. I still love him, but have to be honest when he's acting like the writer of "Jughead" instead of the writer of "Old Friends 4 Sale" or "Moonbeam Levels."

2 each their own, all 3 of those cuts r cool. Some of us fans & fams r still saying Peace n b wild, so I guess that makes some of stale & boring also. Ronny

Billions of you have pointed out that Prince had'nt been down under in 11 years/etc...that's not the point...Sure the show was probably great, and I'm happy for you to get the chance to see him. It's just dissappointing that he says the same lame stale stuff between songs. If I came over to your house for dinner, and said the same lame joke/story every single time, would you invite me back? I hope not. Another thing, somebody as creative and powerful as Prince should be able to at least say some different stuff. I wasn't the only one to point out that he's saying the same lines. The Prince of 1980-1988 used to try to make each show different at least somewhat. The Prince of 1997-2003 seems to over-rehearse, and try to re-hash the same show over and over again. At least the music has a real drummer, and he isn't over doing the medleys anymore. My basic point is somebody so talented should be expected to do better. I don't want him selling 20 million copies of an album, those days are gone, but I don't want him to resort to being a tired old Vegas act either, which in some years he's been. U2 has less than half of Prince's talent, but you won't see Bono NOT WILLING to do the work, and handing the Mike to the crowd to sing Sunday Bloody Sunday.

Actually I think you're missing the point. The dinner party analogy you used would only work if it was the same house he was coming to dinner to every time. But with the situation as it is, he hasn't been to dinner with us for ages, so if he says the same things to his other friends at their places, at a dinner party for which we were not present, then says the same things at OUR dinner party, we're not going to know or care, are we???
