Do you know what the capacity is for these venues?

The way they are spread, it suggests the possibility of adding dates if the existing nights sell very fast, as they did last time (albeit over 10 years ago) - unless. of course, the venues are already booked on the surrounding dates.

Now watch the Australian membership of the NPGMC show a significant upturn.

This news is confirmed in the biggest newspaper in Melbourne today, the Herald Sun which has a big whopping picture of Prince in colour on the front page!!

The tour is promoted by Paul Dainty (who did the 92 tour) along with Clear Channel. It is promoted as a "greatest hits" tour and suggestion is made that following this tour he will be retiring those old songs (sound familiar?).

The Melbourne date is confirmed as 21 October with tickets to go on sale on 30 September to the public. No price quoted.

The capacity of Rod Laver Arena is approximately 15,000 and all the big acts play there.

I'm so fucking excited I'm like a little child on christmas day!!!

p.s It doesnt surprise me he is playing the hits here as it is the only way he can sell out the concerts and make the tour profitable. I dont give a fuck it's been so fucking long. He could sing Barry Manilows greatest hits and I'd be happy biggrin

I'm a UK fan living in Oz for twelve months and am desperate to get two tickets for the Sydney show.
Is it worth me joining the NPGMC to assure myself of tickets would you think or will the general public still get a chance?
Orgnote me if you can please.

I knew if I stayed in Singapore for long enough he'd return to Melbourne! I might then try and get over to Hong Kong for the October 17th concert. Does anybody know any details on this one?

Without being able to get tickets through NPGMC I reckon it will be very hard to get tickets to these concerts.
Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

But NPGMC raps no words on something like a world tour, just H.K. and Aussie.
Good 4 them though as they had to miss him last tours.
Congratz 2 the South Eastern part of this globe! Njouy!!

Prince returning to OZ. WOOOHOOO. Saw him in Melb in 1992 and still
have shivers down my spine. Also saw him that year at Earls Court - London
and but that didn't come close to the intensity of the Melbourne show.

In '92 I was a member of the "official" fan club and through the club
accessed great tickets which were in the front of the stage "maybe 8 rows
back".

Are there any special ticket privileges for NPGMC members???

Is there any way to get great seats for the shows "other than sleeping
overnight at the box office"?

Welcome back Prince - "Lets go CRAZY"
