It's kind of old news. We talked about it over two months ago here: http://prince.org/msg/12/454569

I saw the show at Wolftrap last night and loved it. It was really well done. Enjoy tonight’s show! I‘d go again since I live in RVA but the ticket prices are a little steep for a second show.

Can you share any other details? Set list? Is it just symphony, or live band also? Anyone singing? Any videos? Thanks! TRUE BLUE

Last night's show was really awesome! Before the show there was a track playing. I took notes as best I could, but there were a lot of tracks they played that I didn't recognize.
Track playing: -Live Jam session didn’t know name
-Unreleased live version of 17 Days
-Studio session, female lead vocals, Michelangelo?
-unreleased studio track, lyric: saving your love for some soldier, name: curious places?
-funk jam, don’t let him fool ya
-studio track, female lead, couldn’t make out words, funky beat and sound effects
-studio jam, female lead, prnce in background, then goes into crazy jam, lots of horns,
-funky bass, prince lead vocals, emotional pump
-drum heavy, prince vocals, female vocals
Show starts with Questlove recorded voice intro.
They continue playing the unreleased trax but I was with my daughter and she's 7, and it was after 9pm, I had to get her home to bed.

Very cool show report! Thanks! Pre-show music in DC (Vienna, VA) was: . Chocolate - The Time Come Elektra Tuesday Come Home U Gotta Shake Something ? Track - Maybe this was Dont Let Him Fool Ya? 17 Days - live 86 Girl O My Dreams played at intermission and Wally played as we left. . I thought Christopher Tracey's Parade was done exceptionally well - and was a nice surprise. As were all the UTCM tracks. All My Dreams was a real stand out too. I thought it was funny that they listed the song title for Irrestible Bitch as just Irrestible on the screen. Purple Rain was played alongside a concert performance from the Syracuse show (Atlanta maybe? PR tour). . The Automatic video started playing on the screen before Computer Blue was finished. I don't know if this was intentional or a timing error. . All in all A+ show. . PS-The studio track you mentioned below, Curious Places? is the track, Desire.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Is there any merch? | |

There wasn't any in DC. I was bummed.

That is a shame. Seems like at the very least they could follow in the pattern of similar shows like this & release a recording (taking preorders at the earlier events until it's available). I've been to a few where they've done this. It's a nice memento, in addition to the usual t-shirts, posters, pins, etc.

Last night's Atlanta show was basically the same setlist (based off memory).
Interensting to note was the last song the DJ played before the show started was "Emotional Pump." First song the DJ played when the concernt ended was "Wally."

I went to the Friday night show in Asheville, NC. We had a great time, and was really impressed with a few songs, especially Computer Blue. There were $35 t-shirts for sale with the Parade pose and tour dates on the back, as well as tambourines for $15. As much as we enjoyed the setlist, I was hoping for a few more songs from SOTT forward.

Well damn!! I wish they'd had those at the first few dates! That is a nice price on tambourines. How do they look? Asheville is an incredible city. I grew up close to there.

They were really small with no Prince markings that I saw. It was strange, really.....just a small table set up off to the side away from the entrance. If you weren't looking for a merch stand, you would have missed it.

Attended last night's show in Brooklyn...Kings Theatre. Was blown away by hearing all of these songs that were the fabric of my life for the past 4 decades. Like many of U...Eye lived through these works and they're like a sixth sense to my neuro system. Not ashamed to admit Eye literally sat there in tears for 90% of the show. If not for the brief intermission it would've been 100%. If U can swing it $$ and timewise Eye highly recommend U treat urself.
U can then review it 4 urself because hearing a symphony arrangement of P's work takes on a whole differnt dynamic. U will find urself singing every line in ur head and grimacing when some of the songs are cut short and U have to stop ur line (only negative...prefer full versions on all). Highlights for me were Nothing Compares...Little Red...Venus De Milo/ Alexa De Paris (OMG...Eye wept De whole time LOL), Beautiful Ones (worth the price alone) and of course Purple Rain which inlcuded P's (Eye believe) Syracuse circa 1985 show PR performance...at one point I wanted to scream out to the orchestra STOP! I just wanna hear P and his cloud howvever the strings from the orchestra sounded wonderful and took me back to that Tour On LI in March of '85....that closed with just strings, synths and Doc/Lisa on stage.
Purple Kudos to the first chair violinist who was a great energy, spirit and performer throughout...now her solo at the end of Let's Go Crazy took my breath away. Sounded almost like P but on a violin.
Thank U for curating this Amir (?LOVE)...it was wonderful and the bonus tracks via the pre and post show over the sound system were just amazing.... Nice work....thanks 4 sharing.
Go if U can...promise you'll be glad U did.

I saw last night's show in Lynn, MA. First, let me start by saying I'm very happy to have gone to the show. The idea of hearing Prince's music with symphonic arrangements was very exciting.
I was surprised to enter the show and hear so much unreleased music before the show, during intermission and as we were exiting. Live version of 17 days, That the Girl of My Dreams, Can I Play With You and Wally (which I never heard until last night).
Highlights for me: For You, Computer Blue, Christopher Tracy's Parade, The Beautiful Ones, Raspberry Beret. I also loved the images chosen to play in the background and the snippets of Prince talking.
I wished there had been more of variety in the music chosen. Questlove obviously loves the Under the Cherry Moon, as the bulk of the songs in the show are from that album. There's nothing represented after 1997. Can you imagine Anna Stesia, Adore, If I was your Girlfriend, Love 2 the 9's, Dolphin, Get on the Boat and many others done with an orchestra?
My other issue was the audience. I really wanted to hear the music, but it seemed to me that the people around me saw it as background music for their conversations. Another group in front of me decided to vape throughout the show. There just seemed to be a hum of talk going on. So much so that at the start of the 2nd half of the show people needed to shush each other. I didn't mind the sing-along aspect of the show, it was to be expected. The rest of it was a huge distraction.
My final issue is there was no program. There are talented musicians on the stage. It would have been nice to know who they were.
I really did enjoy the show, and am happy to have had the experience.

Yes, a program would be nice. My audience (Buffalo) was the exact opposite...at first I thought why is no one singing...this is Prince! But then I realized it was actually nice to soak in the experience without the background noise...and I really felt in some ways it was a solemn, spiritual experience we were all taking in.

I wonder if they corrected the spelling of "Rasperry Beret". I saw the show in Atlanta on 9/15, that really irked me.
