lol that what I want to know. I guess only Londell knows.

Morris Day just tweeted that he will be playing First Ave tomorrow night. So I guess that explains the $65 cover charge.

I thought PRN family was hosting something at the Muse Oct 12 - 15??? So confusing keeping all the different events straight as the continue to add on last minute even. This sounds more fun than the tribute actually. Sadly I have to work fri morning. Plus I'm attending the tribute with my pregnant DIL who doesn't want to be out that late.

Prince fanclub is official and has a twitter account. The North Star group is run I believe by Londell and partners.

It wasn't what I hoped but it was still ok. The concert ran so long this didn't start til after 1AM and done by 2AM. For $65. Wish I had saved my money.

For me it was a cool experience to actually be at First Ave to see them perform. Had it been another location, I probably wouldn't have bought a ticket since I had already paid for a ticket to Muse that night. The show seemed to have ended pretty abruptly and a lot of us were looking around, like it's over already? I don't think anyone had expected the tribute concert to be that late. Luckily, the party at Muse went til 4 that night, or should I say morning, so when Morris and the Time finished, I went to Muse.

This was...interesting. I bought tickets because I really wanted to see Morris at First Avenue. When we toured First Ave. earlier I asked what they would do if the concert ran longer. Her response is that they had been told the concert would end at 9 eek I had already heard 11 from someone else. Anyhow, left Xcel as soon as it was over and went straight to F.A. Bilal was singing his last song. Morris Day and the Time waited for the crowd to come over from Xcel, starting about 1 and played 5 or so songs. Londell McMillan, Stevie Wonder and their entourage arrived about halfway into Morris' set. They were upstairs surrounded by security and no one was allowed near them. So basically I paid $130+ for 5 songs by Morris and then staff cut on the lights and starting asking people to leave. I wasn't terribly happy. However, getting to be in the crowd, 3 rows away from Morris on the very stage where Purple Rain performances were filmed, for his first performance at First Avenue in over 20 years was a once in a lifetime experience so I'll just eat cereal for the rest of the month. lol

I went to this...or at least to an hour or so of it, since we reached First Ave just before 1:00. We got there shortly before Bilal went on stage, followed later by The Time.

TBH, I think I have the right to feel ripped off. Londell (and probably others who were involved in putting on the tribute concert) were behind this. How did they not know the concert would run way past the advertised beginning time of this party? In fact, anyone who stayed for the whole concert would have had difficulty getting to First Ave in time to see any of the performances.

Oh, and what happened to Doug E. Fresh ? Kinda like the unexplained no-shows at the concert (Mayer, Xtina, Anita Baker)... confused
