Thanks for the update, Alex. You mentioned there would be a couple of volumes - I can imagine that you can't pack the life he lived into one book. Well, you could....but it would take a forklift to read it

It will be interesting to know how this will be any different to any other Prince book, past, present and future.

Thanks very much! We are writing this book at a much greater level of granularity than Possessed (as well as with a different approach overall). The granularity brings with it length. So indeed, this will be a volume that covers a discrete part of Prince's life -- in effect the "origins story." Depending on how this goes, other volumes are a strong possibility. My interest is in finding new things to explore. Inevitably, there will be some crossover with Possessed (and other books, for that matter), but if there isn't something new to say, that's of less interest to me. But with that said, people are approaching us with a fair amount of new information on any number of topics.

thanks very much. It felt appropriate and natural to me given the parallels between Prince and Hendrix, not to mention the recurrence of the words "rain" and "dream" throughout Prince's canon.
