Five pages, no reviews, no setlists, plenty of whining about ticket prices.

Worst. Thread. Ever.

The concert was a very different experience for me, as I am used to getting my groove on and banging my Prince symbol tamborine during Prince conerts. But, I'm glad I had the chance to experience him in this setting. His voice is still amazing and his piano skills are superb. I don't know if I would go to this kind of concert again, but I'm glad that I got to see this.

I dont recall the songs played, but my favorite was Venus de Milo. It was beautiful. I also rember The Beauttiful Ones sounding so pretty on the piano.

Here now hush, it was a brilliant show. What was so great was all the songs/hits that I got bored hearing live hooked me again, Nothing Compares, P. Rain etc. The interpretation via piano & the brilliant way one would segue into another was just perfect. This show reminded me what a badass he can still be. -

Somewhere Here on Earth

RocknRoll Love Affair

Baltimore

The Breakdown

ICNTTPOYM

Dirty Mind

LRC

Purple Music - unreal

Ballad of Dorothy Parker

Waiting in Vain / If I Was Your Girlfriend - Goosebumps

Controversy

I Would Die 4 U

Baby Im A Star

How Come You Dont Call Me

Raspberry Beret

Starfish & Coffee

Paisley Park

Sometimes it Snows

Purple Rain

Dear Mr. Man

Cream

Diamonds & Pearls

Venus De Milo

Condition of the heart

Under the Cherry Moon

Nothing Compares 2 U - Fantastic

When Doves Cry

Black Sweat

Kiss

Free Urself

Adore

Thieves in the Temple

I Wanna Be Your Lover

Do Me Baby

Looks like you forgot The Beautiful Ones! That was probably the highlight for me. As you said, the reinterpretation of these familiar songs in the intimate format. But he's able to bring the same intensity to the song, kicking over the piano stool and getting on his knees as he sings the appropriate words. Awesome!

Other highlights were

Dorothy Parker--great groove

Nothing Compares--intense

Paisley Park--forgetting the words oops! lol

Waiting in Vain

Kiss--As good as with a full band

When Doves Cry--just for the novelty of something different, he used the drum loop sample

Purple Music--this was a real gem, and worked perfectly in the setting

Which song was he pointing to his left hand and gesturing with the notes it was playing? That was nice little gimmicky showmanship that made me smile

I managed to get great seats at the last minute for $99. I didn't have the urge to sit in nosebleed for this kind of show. I loved it, and looking around, everyone else seemed to be, too. But I do wonder about the balcony. It's a long way off!

With the songs in the beginning--Somewhere here on earth, Baltimore--I expected the show to be a bit dull. But it was still a Prince concert! Somehow he kept the energy going in the same way as always

I felt the opposite. When he opened with these I knew we were in for a great show. To start with deeper cuts I knew it wasn't going to be a by the #'s setlist.

I'm not sure which song he was gesturing at his hand but there were a lot of moments like that. His showmanship was on point throughout. Hopefully he releases this ala dvd, how many times do you hear that? But this one really does warrant it.

Thank y'all for taking this off the Worst. Thread. Ever. list! "Beanie Babies Filled With Spider Eggs" can now regain its rightful place at the top of the list.
