Ticket prices are outrageous! What has happened with Prince? He has become a joke and unfortunately his fans have become the punchline! These random shows and eratic behavior are like an addict only concerned about their next fix. I can't, in good faith, contribute to his schemes anymore. mad

ok do you goto any concerts these days? This isn't the 80's. Prince is a Top Shelf live artist. It doens't get any better. His prices are actually pretty reasonable comopared to other artists out there commanding 10 times whatt he's charging. This show in particular is well woth the money. Saw it Sunday and if I didn't have a commitment I would see it again.

Not true. I've seen bands and artists like Radiohead, Muse, FOO Fighters, RHCP, and Green Day. They don't have a seat in the house over $80. Sure there are some shows that have higher prices, but $500 for the floor and $275 for the lower bowl? That is outrageous. Prince doesn't have a band to pay, nor does he have a large scale production like Madonna or U2.

about three years ago here in MN i bought tickets to a prince show for something like $150 each. come to the day before the concert, ticket monster (or whoever) let the unsold tickets go for $50 just to sell the remainder. that was when i learned that something is really fishy in the ticketing industry....

I paid $200 to stand next to the stage to see Prince in 2013; that was more than worth the money for the experience. That won't happen in this instance. Some things can't be topped.

But U'll still b in the congregation when prince steps to the podium & christens the whole arena with his purple spirit...

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

When he performed in 2011 in Tacoma, WA at the Tacoma Dome (seats 17,000), I purchased VIP tickets and sat in the lower level close to the stage. Right before the show started, hundreds of people were moved by security down from the nosebleeds to fill in the unsold seats around me. Who knows...this may happen again at Oracle Arena.

I have to agree with you on this, some fans only see things through prince tinted glasses. Ticket prices for the half decent seats is too much. Alot of fans will be priced out. Thats the main disappointment for me. In the past Princes ticket prices havent been that bad. Especically here in the UK. I will still will try and go and see this show if it comes to the Uk. Going to start saving now!

actuuly phish being one of if not the biggest bands out there charge 60$ and you get free copy of there that nites show.

he can charge what he wants , hes bombed alot on the market and alot of unsold seats when he does arenas, he has no overhead except for private jet and penthouse suites, lol'

this is a cash grab, its a theater tour thats all it should be.

if he didnt do the hits and he tried that most people woundnt show up.

Prices do seem high for a solo show in a huge venue. Looks like there are good seats at every price level (I just pulled 2nd row sec H on TM for $500.) That means if you check Stubhub on the day, or show up at the venue, you will probably be able to get in for less than face value.

I recently saw Muse at Oracle, and bought the VIP tickets, which included a pre-show reception MUSEum (a museum set up with their memorabilia), food, a tote bag, a lanyard, and a poster, plus early access to the GA floor (or the very best lower club seats if you wanted to sit). Plus the production was absolutely over the top--it was in the round, had huge screens, a rotating stage, and drones flying around! All this for $225 a ticket.

its not ticketmaster thats prince and the promoter all tm does is sell what there given at a certian time, and all releases come from the promoter and prinve and venue , tm is just the vechicle to get you the tickets

TM has done the same thing with other shows I wanted to attend that were supposedly sold out.

Yes, I have been to about five Ticketmaster shows in the past year and most have had some degree of shenanigans - including bad tickets being offered first, excellent tickets to "sold out" shows suddenly appearing, and tickets being sold on secondary markets from almost the moment they officially go on sale.

I'm sure part of this is due to the corruption inside Ticketmaster. I will also say that Prince shows seem to have more seating distribution problems and fake "sell outs", so I assume some of this is due to him and his management.

It's ticket master and the secondary bookers who use software to buy tickets at a faster rate than the public.

For $500 I'd expect to be part of a congregation of no more than 300 or 400 people, not 14,000.

For those of you talking about the shady "sold out" ticket scam that Ticketmaster pulls I absolutely believe that "sell outs" are manufactured. I saw an article from NPR recently about how all of those headlines about tickets "selling out" in 30 seconds for certain artists are complete BS. They basically have a certain portion of tickets that are on hold for a period of time and they GRADUALLY release more. I remember when I checked to see how much Janet's tickets would be shortly after the announcement was made. The prices were through the ROOF....then the closer it got to the date, mysteriously the same tickets that were like $175 suddenly were $60 or something. The fix is in. That's why I laugh at the idiot trolls on social media who really think Beyonce "sold out" Wembley in 30 seconds....

Trolls be gone!

After the two Oakland Paramount shows I will think long and hard before going to another show.... I bought tickets the day they went on sale because I was coming from out of town. If I had waited until the day of the show, I could have had seats ~25 rows closer for both shows. Thats just nonsense. "What's wrong with the world today?"

Heads up fellow Bay Area peeps, prices are now dropping at Ticketmaster. I just got 10th row floor seats for $275 instead of the $500 they were asking. If you were waiting it's time to start checking for tix...

Ya'll must be having some kinda luck I ain't having for this concert. I went on just now and was offered the same lousy over-priced seat over and over again until I was told no tickets were available. lol Enjoy the show, everyone who is going.

Minimum price on StubHub fell like $20-$25 over the past day or two. You can get in the door for like $98, before fees, for Upper section 227. How does this compare to Face Value? If there was alot of unsold tickets, wouldn't these prices have plummeted?

-/// You are using logic which is a no go on this board. My understanding is that Prince gets paid up front by the promoter so it would make no difference to him if the concert sold out or not at these prices if the venue is half full I would think all parties would make out like fat rat.

They usually plummet right before show time. It's only 2pm pdt, wait until 8:30 & you'll get in for a song imo.

I wish I had waited even though i'm happy with my seats. I got sec 221 RW 6 which isn't bad but I bet if i had waited i could get a couple floors for what i paid.

What you need to do is select $275 for the price, and then on the right and uncheck every option except main floor. Hope this helps!
