Greatest Reviews of His Career

I have been a Prince fan for his entire 38 year career and the ecstatic, hyperbolic reviews of his Solo Piano show have to be the greatest he has ever received. And they are from local newspapers and general music media, not fans.

Has he hit lightning in a bottle with the concept? Bring it to Historic US concert halls!

^ Lucky for me I was at the 2 Sydney Opera House shows. I hope he does tour all the great concert halls of the US and Europe. It would be so great for as many fans around the world to witness this. There must be dozens and dozens of historic venues he could play just in Europe alone.

The Opera House concert hall is a unique venue. It is like he is performing in the round and people are very close to him. Even people at back of sections closest to stage feel so close because they are elevated. Second show Sydney we were in 5th row in section behind stalls but were so elevated we had a great view and it was closer than seeing him in front row of seats at the arena of welcome to australia concerts where he performed in the round.

With the proximity of the crowd, the noise that they make from clapping, singing, cheering etc is amplified because the acoustics in opera house are superb. And the sound from prince was superb. He fed off the crowd and crowd fed off him. He was literally on fire last night. So energetic and vibing off the atmosphere.

I'm sure there are other venues like opera house concert hall around the world but there wouldn't be too many that can replicate the exact sound, atmosphere etc and from sounds of it the 2 opera house gigs were excellently superb whereas melbourne was just excellent, but only someone who attended both could give an opinion on that. Whilst the sydney state theatre is a nice venue, it will not have the same atmosphere as the opera house and it will be interesting to see how his performance changes.

Yes! Musically speaking, Prince alone with just a piano and a microphone is a really fucking fantastic concept that should be applauded! clapping

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I agree with all of that. The acoustics were so beautiful and prince sounded so Devine. It was a magical experience in such an iconic venue. It was something extra special and worth every expense. When he sang nothing compares 2 U I had tears rolling down my face and even thinking it about it now makes my eyes well up. Everything was perfect. Now to fly back home and dwell on the memories.
Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜
