.

He could do so many things like release the PR remaster multi disc set.

He could do a proper tour with a proper band playing proper songs and not just hits.

He could learn to plan ahead, stay committed.

Or he could just postpone stuff for a while.

How does it not help? If Prince stops a company taking advantage of music fans and ripping them off, how does that not help?

I really don't understand the level of negative responses to his actions. Are you really saying you would rather let a company make truly vast sums of money that they are not entitled to by cheating you (either costing fans much more money or largely preventing most fans from buying a ticket at all!), just so that you can buy them at the time they were advertised to go on - sale? It makes absolutely no sense at all.

There may well be other ways to sell tickets, but it shouldn't have to happen in the first place. Why should we be trying to work around wrong - doers? Surely the right thing is to stop them? Imagine if we applied this logic to other aspects of life - people get mugged, but let's not make a law making it illegal, just stay at home, you don't need to go out. Banks get robbed, but let's not deal with that, find somewhere else to put your money.

Prince makes a stand against something that is not right and a seemingly large proportion here just moan because they weren't able to buy their ticket at the time advertised - it is beyond belief.

A lot of us are actually "moan"ing because we're not being told what's going on. Prince has been dicking about by putting pictures of vultures on Twitter instead of making a useful statement.

Getmein were advertising tickets for £2750 2 days before Friday's 10am presale.

a) It's wrong and downright criminal but that's what they've always done. Why the shock?
b) Why wait till 9.30am to pull the plug when he must have known this was going on for at least 48 hours?

I respect his intentions. I hate TM and their legalised touting companies, but I'm surprised he's so surprised and that he hasn't come up with a plan B yet, especially when he had it nailed 13 years ago.

The media and a majority of fans know what is going on. His statements have been quite clear - Ticketmaster took the piss, he pulled the tickets and is looking for an alternative - what's so difficult to understand?

I have no interest in becoming the next person you argue pointlessly with about this. However noble his intentions may be, Prince has not handled this well. That's the last thing I'm going to say to you about it.

He has agreed payment with ticket master before hand. If ticket master does not sell the tickets he still gets paid the agreed amount. If they make a profit they keep. If he wants an only fan based attendance he can set up a link and give that code out.

Their will always be touts.. stop moaning and get the show on the road

most prince fans are 50+ we ain't got many years left too see him plus we will all be at the front in our wheelchairs :)

I still think prince should buy his own ticket. let him queue in the cold or book a day off.

You're entitled to your opinion, of course. And I think I've made it clear that I believe people who think this are just being selfish and capitulating to thieves. Your choice, but don't complain if you don't manage to get a ticket as a result.

I'm in the 'we do know what's going on' camp.

My only hope would be that if and when things get sorted, there is some sort of announcement that tickets will go on sale from X at time Y.

Rather than TM just randomly put them back up for sale unannounced.

At least then, hopefully by checking obvious places each morning and evening, I won't miss knowing when I need to be aropund to try to get some.

And even then I may be in big trouble as we're already going to three things up in London in Jan / Feb / March. Its tricky, when you can't really go to everything, but this sounds like it will be a bit of a once in a lifetime kind of show. Mind you, I said that last time as I was lucky enough to get to one of the Hit'n'Run shows.

Yep, Spot on!. We all understand and accept the reasons for the "postponed ticket sales". It's being kept in the dark that is the frustrating bit. No doubt, when these tickets do go in sale, they will sell out in minutes. We don't want to be sat here at our computers for the next couple of weeks hitting the refresh button to make sure we are first in the queue. Prince and his team need to give us a revised date and time for the launch of the ticket sales so we can all get on with our lives.

I completly agree with you, I don't get peoples negative view of Prince. When I read the "Which" report and the write up in the Guardian and Telegraph news papers I immediately though "Good on U P" these resellers are taking the piss and robbing fans and obviously Prince will not accept his shows and fans being fleeced.

I'm certain there will be an announcement as to when and how they will be available, so would should all just chill on that. I can't see then being offered by TM again though, unless he gets them to sign a contract to say they're now allowed to scalp!

No maybe about it - there is no way he will ever perform that song, it would just hurt too much. And I know how he feels. My wife and I lost a baby (to be our second child) in February of this year - I now can't listen to "Comeback", just get too emotional! Fortunately, we still have our first boy, who is now 2 and a half - I think we would have struggled a lot more if we hadn't had him to go home to.

Things have been a mess for about 7 or 8 years with his tickets. And for the last 7 or 8 years I assumed he just did not give a fuck since he was getting paid either way while scalpers were also happy. But for him to just be alone at a piano, I would think he would want a majority of real fans in the audience, instead of a bunch of rich drunk casual fans yelling out "Purple Rain" or "Do Me Baby" the entire night. It is either that or he suddenly cares about his real fans. He does have some true diehards in France though. That is for sure. Nice people too.

I wouldn't be surprised if they plan to postponed or even cancel this tour based on the tragic event in paris (especially that it involves a small music venue, which is something prince plans on doing throughout europe). It's bad enough that you have these touts and people taking advantage of this high in-demand gigs but mixed that with terror attacks on a major european city, it is kind of unsettling that you can't even enjoy the simple things in life while worrying something might harm you
