Thats what I am saying. I guess she indeed left Purple Rain life behind her after the era ended.

I wish I can go. Its all about the good cause. I love me some Bobby Z so grateful he is still alive. I want to meet Matt Fink he seems cool too.

Actually it isn't her first time back since PR (but close enough). She was in MPLS in 1987 to co-host the Minnesota Music Awards - it was televised nationally that year.

Great time last night at First Ave! The evening began with a VIP reception upstairs, with a photo opp with Apollonia (who was very sweet and charming). Bobby Z and Doctor Fink and others mingling in the crowd. Downstairs, Prince tracks were playing to set the mood (Girls and Boys, DMSR, Kiss, etc.). Show started with a surprise performance by Brian Setzer, who was fabulous!, Next was Sean Daley (I think) singing Let's Go Crazy; then Paris Bennett singing Baby I'm A Star; followed by a great performance by Sounds of Blackness (When Doves Cry, Optimistic, Hold On). Then a short clip of the 'purification in Lake Minnetonka' scene from Purple Rain was shown before Apollonia took the stage to sing Take Me with U (w/ G Sharp) -- tossing her hoop earring to the audience and generally having lots of fun being there! G Sharp performed Dirty Mind, and then Eric Leeds and Paul Peterson roused the crowd with COOL, Jungle Love, and Mutiny. Doctor Fink was at the keyboards and Bobby Z on drums almost all of the time -- fabulous to see and hear. The show was interspersed with heartfelt tributes by Bobby Z to Prince and to the physicians who saved his life, and pleas for support for much needed research to combat heart disease (#1 killer of women in the US). The evening cuminated with everyone onstage for a rendition of Purple Rain. Then a big screen came down in front of stage and the movie Purple Rain played while people mingled. Got to meet Bobby Z, Doctor Fink, Andre Cymone, and of course Apollonia! Great evening of great talent in a great venue for a great cause!
